ARCHIVED PROFILES NICOLE NECCI Lock Haven - Secondary Education Major Jackson, N.J. / Jackson Memorial HS Necci is a senior goaltender for a Lock Haven women's lacrosse team that has been a perennial contender in the PSAC. An ultimate team player, Necci has improved steadily in each of her previous three seasons, and has worked her way into a career-high eight games played in 2012. One of her top performances came this year against Rollins, one of Division II's top programs, when she produced a season-high 10 saves. Why did you choose Lock Haven? I enjoyed the campus and they offered my major. Besides, the program is excellent and I connected well with my teammates. What is the biggest adjustment you had to make going from high school to college? Time management. What are your career plans? To become a teacher and a coach. What is the best advice you’ve ever been given? Stay true to who you are and keep moving forward. Among athletes in the family, where do you rate? I am currently the only collegiate athlete. What is your top collegiate athletics memory? Winning conference games with my teammates. What do you consider your most memorable athletic accomplishment throughout your life? Winning awards in high school and making it to the postseason with my team in college. What person has had the most significant influence on you from an athletics perspective? My father and high school coach. What is the thing you’ve enjoyed most about college? Meeting new people from different areas; being able to play a college sport. If I could change one thing about the sport I play, it would be: foul calls. What is your favorite pro sports team? The New York Giants and the New York Yankees. I would be a lot more effective if I would spend less time: worrying. Who is your favorite athlete and why? Mia Hamm is my favorite athlete because she is passionate about the game, a true leader, and performs under pressure. Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions? Eye black worn the same way every game. My hidden talent is: dancing. Who is your celebrity crush? CHANNING TATUM. What is on your Ipod during pregame? Pump up videos, quotes and speeches. What is your favorite vaction spot? Disney World or somewhere warm. Words your coach says that you swear you can hear in your sleep: Head, heart, hustle.
