Why did you choose West Chester University?
I felt like West Chester was a good fit for me. The school is a good academic school and is only 30 minutes away from my house. I am a home girl therefore being close to home and my family is something I enjoy. Also, the coaches at WCU are wonderful and create a great family atmosphere. At times I feel like my head coach is like my mom away from home. |
What are your career plans?
To become a collegiate coach at the Division II or I level... Something I know won't be easy but I don’t always like when things come easy. |
What is the biggest adjustment you had to make going from high school to college?
Probably actually taking the time and doing my home work. In high school I always wanted to be playing basketball or hanging out with my friends so I often put homework on hold. But in college I definitely took my homework more serious. |
Who is your favorite athlete and why?
Tough question but I would have to say Derrick Rose the point guard for the Chicago Bulls. I was even a huge fan when he played for the University of Memphis. The main reason I like him is because he is one of the few professional athletes who stays humble and seems to stay out of a lot of the negative drama that you hear about in the professional basketball lifestyle. |
What is your top collegiate athletics memory?
My top collegiate moment was probably the Millersville vs. WCU games my junior year -- every time we played them it was a fight down to the end and we always had to finish it in OT. Another moment just occurred this year was when I scored my 1000 pt vs California University of Pa.

What do you consider your most memorable athletic accomplishment throughout your life?
Probably my high school basketball career. It was something I will never forget. My junior year we knocked off one of the top ranked teams in the country. It was pretty cool because we come from a little town with great supporters of our sports teams. Another good memory was Oxford vs Villa Maria games because no matter where they were played we always sold out the gyms. |
What is the thing you’ve enjoyed most about college?
The people I meet... I enjoy meeting new people whether other athletes from other schools or just students here at WCU. My teammates always say I could hold a conversation with a fly because I will literally go up and talk to anyone. |
|
What person has had the most significant influence on you from an athletics perspective?
I would have to say my mom... although she was a cheerleader, my mom has been fighting the disease MS for many years now and seeing how strong she is in fighting off this disease has a significant influence on me. She is the person who puts things in perspective for me. When I’m injured I just think about my mom and I then tell myself if she can fight through this disease I can fight through this injury. Therefore I try to play 100% every game.

|
Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?
Every game I wear the same sports bra and the same spandex, Also before every game I keep a piece of gum in my sock that I take out before tip off to have during the game. I also keep a MS wrist band in my basketball shoe for my mom.
|
What is your favorite pro sports team?
My favorite professional sports team would have to be all the Philly teams, mainly the Eagles, Phillies and Sixers. But if we are talking about all-time favorite I am a huge Boston Celtic fan because they are a old school team with a young point guard Rajon Rondo. |
Among athletes in the family, where do you rate?
It is hard to rate myself because I come from a wrestling and football family, and being that I’m the only girl, those sports weren’t something I participated in even though I always did play football with the boys. I would say I rate myself behind my dad who was a great wrestler and football player in the state of Pa. |
