Athletic Trainer (1/2 time)
The primary responsibilities of the Athletic Trainer are to work with Olympic sports practices and competitions, work daily in training room operation and supervise work study students. Wages are set per AFSCUF contract at $22, 397.62 for the academic year.
Overall duties and assignments include:
• Evaluating and managing athletic injuries
• Aiding in the prevention of athletic injuries
• Conducting health screenings and evaluation of student athletes
• Assisting with the administration of insurance claims
• Supervising work-study students assigned
• Maintaining training records and related documents
• Assisting with maintenance of inventory
• Administering appropriate coverage for practices and competition
• Acting as liaison between medical staff and head coaches
• Attending department meetings and execute follow-up as necessary
• Supporting the university’s Zero Tolerance policy and educational programs for student athlete welfare
• Performing other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Athletic Administration
Education, Training, and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required. NATA certification as and athletic trainer is required. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Pennsylvania; applicants must have current CPR/AED and first aid certification.

Graduate Assistant - Sports Information
Responsibilities:
The graduate assistant will assist the SID with coverage of 21 Division II sports in the highly competitive Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). This individual will be responsible for comprehensive web site management, to include feature stories, event previews, game stories, scores, statistics, rosters, schedules and archival program information including photo archives. Game management responsibilities will include score table and press box management, operating in-game scoring statistical programs, post-game score reporting, event recaps, press releases, media relations and day to day office operations. The graduate assistants will be required to work many of the hours associated with the sports information profession (averages 25-30 hours per week), including nights and weekends. Additionally, GA will have oversight of specific sports as assigned by the Sports Information Director and must be willing to travel.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree is required and successful candidate must be accepted into one of Kutztown University's graduate programs. Candidates should have a working knowledge of sports information and a wide range of collegiate sports. Knowledge of Indesign, Photoshop, Stat Crew and other PC software must be demonstrated. Background in web maintenance is preferred.
Compensation/Benefits:
Paid tuition and a stipend of $7,500 for the 2010-11 academic year. Successful candidate must be registered as a full-time matriculating graduate student. In addition, successful candidate will gain plenty of valuable experience working in a fast paced environment with many diverse personalities.
