Neely Spence of Shippensburg captured the individual national championship in the women's 5000 meters while IUP's Nafee Harris won the individual title in the men's long jump to highlight a outstanding weekend for PSAC athletes at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field championships. West Chester's Jackie Borkowski won her third individual national championship of the meet, as she completed the freestyle sprint trifecta on Saturday by winning the 100 free to go along with her titles in both the 50 and 200 free won earlier this week. She was awarded the female Swimmer of the Meet honor. Clarion men's diver Logan Pearsall captured his second individual title of the meet as he won the men's 3-meter springboard title on Saturday. PSAC East co-champion East Stroudsburg, PSAC West and Tournament champion IUP and this year's PSAC Tournament runner-up and last year's NCAA Atlantic Regional runner-up Kutztown are will compete this weekend in the NCAA Atlantic Regional, which will be held at two different sites beginning Saturday with first round games. Two-time defending regional champion California, PSAC West and Tournament champion and last year's regional runner-up Gannon and PSAC East champion Millersville will be three of the eight teams vying for the NCAA Atlantic Regional title as the NCAA Division II women's basketball tournament gets underway this weekend. Millersville’s Liz Weekley and Mercyhurst’s Kimberly Masterton are the inaugural PSAC Lacrosse Athletes of the Week of the 2010 season. Kutztown’s Stephen Dennis, the leading scorer in NCAA Division II, has been named the PSAC East Player of the Year while Thomas Young of PSAC champion IUP has been named the PSAC West Player of the Year, highlighting the 2009-10 All-PSAC men’s basketball teams as voted on by the league’s head coaches. West Chester’s Sam Ingersoll is the PSAC East Player of the Week for the second straight week while Kutztown’s Katlin Arbogast put up impressive numbers despite a pair of tough-luck losses to earn the PSAC East Pitcher of the Week award. In the Central Division, Bloomsburg Shavaun Fisher tossed a no-hitter for the second straight week to earn her second straight Pitcher of the Week award while IUP’s Megan McCormick put up some eye-popping offensive numbers to lead the Crimson Hawks to a 4-0 record and earn Player of the Week honors.
