Millersville 69
Cheyney outscored Millersville 47-22 in the second
half to overcome a 26-point deficit and claim the
Eastern Division's No. 1 seed with a 77-69 victory
at Millersville. The Wolves trailed 47-30 at
the half thanks to Millersville's hot shooting.
The Marauders hit 75.0 percent (18-of-24) from the
field in the first half, including 9-of-14 from
behind the three-point arc. Cheyney made
13-of-27 attempts in the first half but came out hot
in the final session, draining 18-of-26 from the
field. The Wolves tied the game for the first
time with 5:38 left in regulation then took the lead
for good at 2:55 on Maurice McPherson's jumper.
Four of five Cheyney starters scored in
double-figures, including Edwin Braswell, who posted
a team-high 26 points. Millersville's Charlie
Parker recorded a game-high 31 points on 13-of-17
shooting.

Stroudsburg 64, Mansfield 54
E. Stroudsburg claimed the fourth and final playoff
spot in the Eastern Division with its 64-54 victory
over Mansfield. Both teams shot under 40
percent for the game, with the Warriors hitting 39.6
percent (21-of-53) and the Mountaineers making 32.8
percent (19-of-58). ESU led 31-18 at the half
and outlasted Mansfield as the Mounties outscored
the Warriors in the second half, 36-33. ESU
had two players in double-figures, including Channon
Easley (17 points, 16 rebounds) and Josh Wentz (16).
The Warriors benefitted from a balanced
scoring-effort as all but one Warrior recorded at
least three points. Mansfield managed just one
player in double-figures with Brandon Lawley
tallying a game-high 21 points and adding 12 boards.
*California
68, Slippery Rock 54
California saw five players score in double-figures
as the Vulcans moved to 11-0 in the Western Division
with one game left to play. Cal can clinch the
No. 1 seed in the division with a win at rival
Edinboro on Saturay and become the league's first
Western Division team to go 12-0 since the 1991-92
Cal edition. That year's squad went on to
become the tournament champion, defeating Edinboro
92-76. The Rock's Cory Somerville (12 points)
and Rashiid Coleman (11 points) led the SRU effort
while Cal's Ron Banks and Ali Mbaye shared game-high
honors with 13 points each.
*Edinboro 79,
Clarion 76
Edinboro overcame a 14-point deficit at Clarion to
register a 79-76 victory and kept its hopes alive
for the No. 1 seed in the Western Division.
The Fighting Scots will host California in a battle
of the top-two teams on Saturday, with the only
blemish on EUP's league record by California.
The win is Edinboro's fifth-straight and 15th in its
last 16 games. The Fighting Scots saw all five
starters register double-digit efforts for the third
consecutive game, led by Gilmore Cummings 19 points.
Clarion led by a slim 37-35 margin at the half, then
pushed a 17-5 run to start the second half but
the Edinboro defense came alive in the final minutes
as the Golden Eagles were held scoreless in the
game's final 3:22, allowing the Fighting Scots to
complete the comeback. Clarion's Ricky
Henderson posted game-highs with 21 points and 18
rebounds while Lonnell Jones added 16 markers for
the Golden Eagles.
*Shippensburg
72, IUP 62
Shippensburg closed out the regular season on a
two-game winning streak thanks to its 72-62 victory
over IUP. The Red Raiders shot 52.0 percent
from the field, hitting 26-of-50 field goals.
Ship was outrebounded by the Crimson Hawks 36-22 but
committed just eight turnovers in the contest.
All five Red Raiders scored in double-figures,
including 18 markers by freshman Justin Minter and
17 tallies by Alex Jones. IUP remained alive
in its quest for the Western Division's final
playoff berth despite losing thanks to SRU's loss at
California. The Crimson Hawks recorded
career-bests from Sean Christiansen (22 points) and
Adeniyi Amadou (16 boards) but fell for the
fifth-consecutive contest. Should IUP and
Slippery Rock finish tied for fourth place, the
Crimson Hawks will gain entry into the PSAC
tournament.
*West Chester
59, Bloomsburg 56
West Chester held on for a 59-56 victory at
Bloomsburg as the Huskies missed a last-second
three-point attempt. The win snaps a five-game
losing streak for the Golden Rams while Bloomsburg
falls to 0-11 in the Eastern Division, with just one
more shot at Mansfield on Saturday to pick up a
conference victory. West Chester was led by
Kenneth St. George with a game-high 24 tallies while
teammate Kehinde Roberts chipped in 15 markers.
Bloomsburg's Nick Jones paced the Huskies with 22
tallies and Buddy Rose contributed 16 points and
eight boards.
Kutztown 112,
Columbia Union 96
Kutztown outlasted Columbia Union as the
Golden Bears posted the third-most points in
school history their 112-96 victory over
visiting Columbia Union. KU was led by
Andre Woodlin and Dave Ben, who tallied 22
and 20 points, respectively. With
Cheyney's win over Millersville the Golden
Bears were assured a first-round home
playoff game and will host the No. 4 seed,
either East Stroudsburg or Millersville.
