BLOOMSBURG, Pa. --- Kutztown senior Gabriel Nogara Souza named the PSAC Men’s Tennis Champion Scholar, the league announced Friday afternoon prior to KU’s semifinal.

Souza is the second Golden Bear men’s tennis athlete to garner the award.

The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 90 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is similar to that of the NCAA Elite 90 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 90 NCAA championships across all three divisions – I, II, and III.

The Curitiba, Brazil, product and Dom Bosco graduate has amassed 123 credits towards his business administration – accounting degree while sporting a 3.86 grade point average.
