Women's Outdoor Track Co-Athlete of the Week
7625 Lizzy Cunningham
IUP (Sr. / Sprints)
Hastings, Pa. / Northern Cambria

Cunningham ran an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 400 hurdles and also took part in IUP's 4x400 relay win on Saturday's Early Bird Invitational at Cal ... Cunningham's time of 1:00.91 in the 400 hurdles won the event and is the fastest time in the PSAC this outdoor season ... She was also the lead leg on the Crimson Hawks winning 4x4 relay, as they sprinted to a time of 3:53.69, fourth best in the PSAC this year.

7626 Kennedy Evans

Evans owns the sixth fastest time in the nation in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:01.13 ... she also ran a leg of the only NCAA provisional qualifying relay in the PSAC so far as a member of SRU's 4x400-meter relay at Raleigh Relays, which currently owns the sixth best time in the nation at 3:47.93, more than five seconds better than the second best in the PSAC ... That relay time is the fastest run by any PSAC team since 2014 and is more than six seconds faster than any PSAC team ran last spring ... Evans also ranks third in the PSAC in the 100-meter hurdles so far this season with her time of 14.75 seconds.

7399 Sarah Hunt

Hunt notched a long jump (19-8.75/6.01) that's second to Caruso, and a triple jump (40-2/12.24) that's second to teammate Abby Wagner, and both marks are strong provisional qualifiers that could very well get her to nationals once again in each event...Hunt is 3rd in the country in the LJ and 5th in the TJ.

Thompson owns the fastest 1,500-meter time in the nation this season with his SRU school record setting performance of 3:48.20 at the Raleigh Relays, where he was the top non Division I or professional finisher out of more than 100 entries in the 1,500m ... His time broke the SRU record by more than two seconds and is the fastest run by any PSAC runner since 2014 ... Thompson also owns the 15th fastest 800-meter time in the nation this season at 1:53.36, a time he ran by himself in a winning effort in a race where the second place finisher was more than 6.5 seconds behind him at Mount Olive.

Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

O'Connor opened the outdoor season with a first place finish in the high jump at the Winthrop Adidas Invitational. O'Connor hit a mark of 2.10m which is an NCAA provisional mark and the best mark in the PSAC so far this season.

Women's Lacrosse: Athlete of the Week

Palmeri led the Griffins to a pair of wins over two top 15 teams. She finished the week with 7 goals and 3 assists. She scored the game winner in each contest. Palmeri opened the week with 4 goals and 1 assist in the 10-9 2 OT win over #10 Mercyhurst. She took the opening draw of the second OT period and scored the game winner just 11 seconds into the period. She added 3 goals and 2 assists in the 12-11 win over #13 Lock Haven. Palmeri also added 3 ground balls vs LHU.

Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week 
7617 Martin Munoz

Munoz won 3-of-4 matches last week, including both in KU's PSAC-opening win over West Chester on Saturday. Against Harford on Thursday, he won in tiebreakers at No. 3 singles and won seven games at No. 1 doubles in a tough 9-7 defeat. Saturday at West Chester, Munoz followed with two wins in conference play. He won 6-3, 4-1 (retired) in singles and 8-4 in doubles at the top flight. This season, Munoz has won a team-high four singles matches.

Women's Tennis: Eastern Division Athlete of the Week 
7621 Maddy Shaak

Shaak played a pivotal role in West Chester winning a pair of matches this week against Philadelphia and Kutztown University. Shaak won all four of the matches she competed in for the Golden Rams. On Tuesday, Claire Uhle alongside Shaak registered an 8-0 sweep in their doubles match. Shaak claimed a singles match as well, defeating Emily Zygmunt 6-0, 6-0. On Saturday, the duo of Uhle and Shaak provided an 8-1 victory in doubles against Kutztown. Additionally, the senior won her singles match against Taylor Capoferri, 6-1, 6-1. Shaak has contributed toward extending West Chester’s (8-2, 1-0 PSAC East) conference winning streak to 14 matches while also picking up its eighth straight 9-0 sweep of a conference opponent.

Women's Tennis: Western Division Athlete of the Week

Cohen led The Rock to a 2-2 record last week. Cohen, who competes in the first flight in both singles and doubles competition for The Rock, went a combined 7-1 that included a 3-1 mark in singles matches and a perfect 4-0 showing in doubles play. The highlight of Cohen’s week came against PSAC West rival IUP where she teamed with Carla Corrochano Moracho to defeat the Crimson Hawks’ pairing of Jarka Petercakova and Luise von Agris, which are ranked 15th in the nation by the ITA. Cohen’s only loss on the week came against Petercakova in singles play.


Softball: Central Division Athlete of the Week
7611 Morgan Cannin

Cannin hit a .538 clip in four contests; including a pair of multi-hit games. The junior accumulated seven hits, three runs to go with a stolen base and walk. The Mountain Cats finished the week with a 3-1 record.

Softball: Central Division Pitcher of the Week
7612 Rachel Mouillessaux

Mouillesseaux went 2-0 last week in the circle, winning both of her starts while helping Lock Haven to a 3-1 overall weekend. Over a 14-inning span (2 complete-game wins), she recorded 12 strikeouts, a 0.50 ERA, allowed just two total walks and limited the opposition to a .196 batting average. Mouillesseaux struck out seven in a win at Slippery Rock, where she allowed just five hits and no earned runs. In another complete-game effort in the win over Millersville, she struck out five.

Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West

Ercolani posted a .421 batting average (8-19) with four runs and a team-high eight RBIs this week as West Chester (20-6) won five out of its six games. At the plate, she had two doubles, a triple, and a pair of home runs to go along with a .947 slugging percentage. In the field, she contributed 12 put outs and 11 assists. In the second game of the doubleheader against Wilmington, she played a pivotal role in an extra innings victory. She doubled in two runs in the top of the eighth that broke a 1-1 tie. She then came around in the ninth and singled home a run that made it 7-3 at the time. Ercolani was responsible for three of the six runs that West Chester scored in extra innings.

Houck (Gap, Pa./Pequea Valley) was simply perfect, starting the week with a five-inning perfect game in the opener against Wilmington. It was the first time since 2006 that a West Chester pitcher threw a perfect game. She was not done yet, tossing a no-hitter on Sunday against Philadelphia University. Houck accumulated a 4-0 record over the course of 25.1 innings. The left-handed pitcher held opponents to only 13 hits, while surrendering four runs (two earned). She managed to register a miniscule 0.08 ERA and an impressive 21/1 strikeout to walk ratio.
 

Softball: Western Division Athlete of the Week
7615 Christiana Skrabak
Seton Hill (Fr. / SS)
North Huntingdon, Pa. / Norwin

Skrabak was 8-13 (.615) in the Griffins four contests this week. She scored four runs, added a double and 2 RBIs. Skrabak stole 2 bases and was perfect in 20 chances in the field. The freshman produced three multi-hit games in four contests.

Davis tossed the program’s first perfect game in over a decade on Saturday in Game 1 of a doubleheader sweep at Bowie State. She set a career high with 10 strikeouts while retiring all 21 batters she faced. Davis, who hadn’t pitched since March 16, also recorded the school’s first no-hitter since April 2015.

Kennedy went 12-for-26 (.462) this week with 6 HRs, 12 RBIs, 2 2Bs, 3 BBs and 7 runs scored...Kennedy had a hit in all seven of SU's games this week, extending his hitting streak to eight, and posted a .500 OBP (15-for-30)...he slugged a splendid 1.231 over 30 plate appearances...in one game against Chestnut Hill, Kennedy became just the third player in school history to hit 3 HRs in a game -- including a first-inning grand slam...he homered in the second game against Chestnut Hill and also in Game 1 of both conference doubleheaders with Bloomsburg...through 18 games, Kennedy has 10 HRs and 27 RBIs and is slugging .879...SU went 3-3-1 this week, splitting with Bloomsburg, going 1-0-1 with Chestnut Hill on Wednesday and losing Tuesday at UPJ.

Nabholz led Millersville to a 1-0, extra-inning win over Kutztown by tossing eight shutout innings. He struck out 12 without allowing a walk and scattered four hits. He faced the minimum over 4 1/3 and allowed only two base runners to reach second base. His 12 strikeouts matched a career high.

Baseball: Western Division Co-Athlete of the Week 
7607 Chris Wastchak

Wastchak hit a .467 clip with nine RBI over the weekend, as the Vulcans opened PSAC West play with a four-game sweep of Pitt-Johnstown. He tallied five extra-base hits for a 1.000 slugging percentage and also scored five runs over the weekend. In Game 1 of the series, Wastchak reached base three times (double, hit by pitch and walk) and posted a pair of RBI. The 6-foot-0 junior then collected a pair of hits and scored twice in the second game of Friday’s doubleheader. Wastchak opened Saturday by going 3-for-5 with a two-run homer, five RBI and two runs scored. He closed the weekend by delivering an RBI single and drawing a walk against the Mountain Cats.

Gonzalez ent 8-for-14 in four wins against IUP. He hit 3 HR, 7 RBI, 9 runs scored, and 3 doubles. The senior reached base safely in 10-of-17 plate appearances.

Baseball: Western Division Pitcher of the Week

Jackson went 1-0 with a 4.05 ERA during two starts last week … limited the opposition to a .286 average … held opposing hitters to a .071 average (1-14) with runners on base … began the week by tossing 1 2/3 scoreless innings while receiving a no decision during an 18-6 non-conference victory against Lake Erie, allowing only two hits … later improved to 3-0 with five innings of work during a 9-8 victory at Seton Hill, helping Gannon secure its first-ever road win at Seton Hill in seven attempts … left the game with a 9-3 lead after five innings … struck out seven … leads Gannon in ERA (3.12), wins (3), complete games (2) and innings pitched (26) through 19 games.
