Gannon's Lydia Lukomski Earns Volleyball Champion Scholar Award
ERIE, Pa. --- Gannon sophomore Lydia Lukomski has been named the PSAC Volleyball Champion Scholar, the league announced Friday evening prior to the GU’s semifinal match in Erie, Pa.
Lukomski is the first Lady Knight to garner the award in the sport and fourth GU representative to accomplish the feat this academic season.
The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 89 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions – I, II, and III.
The Portville, N.Y., native and Portville Central graduate has amassed 63 credits towards her chemistry (pre-med) degree while sporting a flawless 4.0 grade point average.
