PSAC Volleyball Athletes of the Week - 11

Volleyball: Central Division Athlete of the Week:
8359 Marissa Erminio
Pitt-Johnstown (Sr. / OH)
Hopwood, Pa. / Laurel Highlands

Erminio amassed 49 kills while pacing UPJ to 2-1 record during the final week of the regular season. The senior produced 14 kills, 19 digs and an ace in a win against Lock Haven. Erminio added 13 kills and eight digs in the Mountain Cats win against Millersville. Erminio contributed 22 kills and 14 digs in a thrilling five-set loss to Shippensburg Saturday. The two teams will meet in a PSAC Quarterfinal Tuesday.

Volleyball: Northwest Division Athlete of the Week:
8358 Ally Smith
Gannon (So. / OH)
Penfield, N.Y. / Webster Schroeder

Smith produced 44 kills, 35 digs and had a .304 hitting percentage across three matches last week for the Lady Knights. She averaged 4.0 kills/set and 3.18 digs/set for Gannon in victories over Mercyhurst, Slippery Rock and Edinboro. Smith recorded her ninth and 10th double-doubles of the season with 16 kills and 11 digs against Slippery Rock and 18 kills alongside 17 digs in a five-set thriller against Edinboro.

Volleyball: Southeast Division Athlete of the Week: 
8357 Karleigh Lutz
West Chester (Sr. / OH)
Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley

Lutz helped West Chester wrap up the regular season with back-to-back victories over East Stroudsburg and Kutztown this weekend. The senior generated 30 kills in addition to 26 digs in the pair of matches. In a 3-2 win over host East Stroudsburg, Lutz put together 19 kills as well as 12 digs. She followed that performance up with 11 kills, 14 digs, and three service aces in a 3-0 victory against host Kutztown. As a result, Lutz’s performance helped earn the the sixth seed in the upcoming PSAC championships.

Volleyball: Southwest Division Athlete of the Week: 
8356 Katie Miller
IUP (Sr. / S)
Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead

Miller helped lead IUP to a 3-0 record against the top division in the PSAC in the final week of the regular season. The senior had 113 assists, averaging 11.3 assists per set. She tallied 51 assists in four-set win over Seton Hill that clinched PSAC Southwest title. Miller led the team with 11 service aces, including career-high six in win over Seton Hill.
