Gannon's Garrett Sutton Earns Men's Cross Country Champion Scholar Award

CALIFORNIA, Pa. --- Gannon junior Garrett Sutton has been named the PSAC Men’s Cross Country Champion Scholar, the league announced Saturday following the PSAC Cross Country Championships on the campus of California in California, Pa.

He is the first GU cross country athlete to garner the award in school history in either gender.

The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 89 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions – I, II, and III.
 
The Gallitzin, Pa., product and Penn Cambria graduate has accumulated 71 credits towards his biomedical engineering degree while boasting a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
