PSAC Volleyball Athletes of the Week - 5 Tuesday, October 4, 2016 2:30 PM Volleyball Athletes of the Week: Northwest: Victoria Severo (Sr.) Edinboro (MH) Meadville, Pa. / Meadville Severo was an integral part of the Fighting Scots going 2-0 over the weekend to improve to 11-4 overall and stay a perfect 4-0 in PSAC play. On Friday, September 30, Severo recorded her third-straight game with a hitting percentage upwards of .500 percent. She finished with a team-high 12 kills on 21 attempts for a .524 hitting percentage and added two block assists and a service ace. In Edinboro's five-set comeback win against Shippensburg on Saturday, Severo led the Fighting Scots with a season-high 18 kills. She added four digs, two block assists and an assist to complete the outing. Southwest: Danielle Hayes (Sr.) California (Pa.) (OH) Erie, Pa. / McDowell Hayes registered 4.45 kills and 5.36 points per set last week, as the Vulcans posted a 3-0 record, all on the road, against in-region opponents with two victories in league crossover play. She totaled 49 kills on a .246 hitting percentage and also collected 38 digs, seven blocks and five services aces over three matches. Southeast: Karleigh Lutz (Jr.) West Chester (OH) Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley Lutz helped West Chester finish with a 3-1 record this week including the program’s first ever victory over Clarion University. In the match-up with Clarion, Lutz manufactured 10 kills and a .280 hitting percentage, sweeping Clarion 3-0. In the four matches this week, she totaled 42 kills for a 3.00 kill per set percentage and .246 hitting percentage. Central: Marissa Erminio (Jr.) Pitt-Johnstown (OH) Hopwood, Pa. / Laurel Highlands In a five-set, non-conference win at West Liberty (W. Va.) University on Tuesday, Erminio had a match-high 16 kills and .326 hitting percentage. She also added four digs and a pair block assists. Erminio collected seven kills, two digs, two block assists, and a set assists in Pitt-Johnstown's home, PSAC sweep over Mercyhurst. Erminio concluded her week with a match-high 17 kills, two digs, and one block assist in a 3-sets-to-none sweep over Gannon in the Sports Center.
