HERSHEY, Pa. --- IUP claimed its 27th PSAC Men's Golf Championship and Gannon earned its third PSAC Women's Golf Championships while the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Golf Championships concluded Sunday evening at the Hershey East Golf Country Club in Hershey, Pa.
Men's Recap
IUP's Max Kirsch rallied from six strokes back to force a tiebreaker with West Chester's Andrew Patterson.
Patterson entered play tied for first after an impressive 1-over round onSaturday. Kirsch responded with a 3-under on the championship's final day to force sudden death after being tied for 15th following Saturday's play.
Both players trekked back to hole No. 16, a par 3 with water hazards on both sides of the green. After both players missed the green on their tee shots, Kirsch sealed the victory with a bogey.
The individual title was IUP's first since 2012.
Millersville's Rodney Anders, WCU's John Abbott and IUP's Matt Cocorikis tied for third on the weekend after shooting 7-over.
IUP won the team title by two strokes and finished 35-over while WCU and California finished second and third, respectively.
The Crimson Hawks won their first title since 2012.
Women's Recap
Gannon's Diana Munoz cruised to the individual title after shooting 5-over on the weekend. She finished one shot shy of the championship in 2015. Her finish marked the first individual PSAC individual crown for a Gannon player since 2011.
Teammate Manuela Quevedo and Millersville's Danielle Greene tied for second at 9-over.
Cal's Rachel Lim and Carla Maestre rounded-out the top five.
Gannon won the team title by seven strokes over Cal and claimed its first PSAC title since 2013.
Kutztown impressed by shaving 22 strokes as a whole and finished third.
Clarion cut 26 strokes from their first round of play.
DAY ONE
HERSHEY, Pa. --- The opening day of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Golf Championships concluded Saturday at the Hershey Country Club East Course in Hershey, Pa.
On the women's side, Gannon's Diana Munoz (plus-3) and Manuela Quevedo (plus-4) sit atop the leaderboard while there is a three-way time for third at plus-5.
Munoz led all players with four birdies while Quevedo produced a solid 12 pars.
Gannon leads all teams with a plus-29 and sits six strokes ahead of California.
Cal's Carla Maestre and Rachel Lim join Millersville's Danielle Greene in the three-way tie for third.
Action commences on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on hole No. 10 with the last group slated to start at 12:36 p.m.
On the men's side, West Chester's Andrew Patterson and Mercyhurst's Harison Laskey are tied for first at plus-1.
Indiana (Pa.)'s Jeremy Eckenrode and Cal's Matt CIoffi are tied for third, one stroke back while Gannon's Matt Barto holds fifth at plus-3.
Cal, Mercyhurst and WCU are all tied for the team lead at plus-20 while IUP isn't far behind at plus-22.
The men begin play at 10:40 a.m. on hole No. 1 while the top four golfers will tee off at 12:10 p.m.

HERSHEY, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Golf Championships will take place at the Hershey Country Club East Course October 15 & 16 in Hershey, Pa.
The men's championship will field eight teams while the women's will boast nine.
Both the men and women will play 18 holes on both Saturday and Sunday to make-up the two-round 36-hole tournament. The first women's group is slated to tee-off at 9 a.m. hole No. 1 and the last group will begin play at 11:06 a.m.
The men's action will commence at 9:10 a.m. from hole No. 10 and the last group will start at 10:40 a.m.
The men will start action at 10:40 a.m. from hole No. 1 on Sunday while the women open play at 10:30 a.m. from hole No. 10.
In 2015, the Millersville women (plus-64) claimed the team championship by outlasting Cal. U (plus-65) by one stroke. It marked the first time that the Marauders team won the PSAC crown.
MU's Shannon Weber won the individual title with a plus-6 performance on the weekend.
Three teams had three players each to finish in the top 10.
On the men's side, Mercyhurst claimed its first PSAC title after shooting plus-30. Clarion finished second at plus-41 while West Chester was third at plus-42.
The Lakers' Chris Kupniewski won the individual title at plus-3.
