Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela / Colegio Ibero Americano California’s Carla Maestre placed second overall on the individual leader board and helped the Vulcans place second at the UIndy Fall Invitational, which featured 18 teams. She recorded the highest finish of her career after shooting a six-over 150 (77-73). Maestre finished the event just one stroke back of the medalist after shooting a one-over 73 in the final round, which was one stroke back of the lowest round of the tournament. Schedule/Results Women's Volleyball Eastern Division Athlete of the Week Marissa Erminio Pitt-Johnstown (So. / OH) Hopwood, Pa. / Laurel Highlands Pitt-Johnstown’s Marissa Erminio led her team to a 2-2 week in PSAC crossover play. The sophomore outside hitter tallied 51 kills, 31 digs, three blocks, and three aces against four West teams. Her 19 kills against Seton Hill marked a season-high. Erminio recorded double-doubles in both of the Lady Cats' wins with 12 kills and 10 digs against California, and 10 kills and 12 digs in a three-set win over IUP. Erminio finished the week hitting at a .220 clip with 3.92 kills per set and 2.38 digs per set. Women's Volleyball Western Division Athlete of the Week Shelby Kyllo Seton Hill (Jr. / MB) Anacortes, Wash. / Anacortes Shelby Kyllo of Seton Hill utilized her all-around consistency to lead the Griffins to a 5-0 week. Four of those wins came in league crossover action, which saw Seton Hill defeat four 2013 PSAC playoff teams, including reigning league champion, Pitt-Johnstown. The junior middle blocker finished the five matches with 85 kills, a .372 hitting percentage, 31 blocks, 23 digs, and four aces. She notched 3.86 kills per set along with 1.41 blocks per set. Seton Hill’s weekend was capped-off with a 3-2 win over Lock Haven in which Kyllo racked-up a season-high 29 kills and eight blocks. Kyllo is currently second in the PSAC with a .431 hitting percentage. Standings | Statistical Leaders | Schedule/Results Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week Brayden Burleigh Shippensburg (Sr.) Midlothian, Va.. / Midlothian (Virginia Tech) Shippensburg senior Brayden Burleigh won the 4K Dickinson 'Short' Invitational on Saturday. Burleigh out-kicked a field of 264 runners to take first-place with a time of 11:53.76. Burleigh won the event by three-tenths of a second, marking the second straight year he has claimed the 4K title at Dickinson. His finish on Saturday is an 11-second improvement from his 2013 championship time. Schedule/Results Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week Allison Decker East Stroudsburg (So.) Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley (Quinnipiac) East Stroudsburg’s sophomore Allison Decker won the individual title at UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday. She covered the 5K course in 17:50.09 and beat out a field of 272 runners. Her first-place finish and teammate’s Chelsea Conover’s third-place finish propelled East Stroudsburg to the team title of 38 schools. Schedule/Results Field Hockey Athlete of the Week Ally Roth East Stroudsburg (Jr., F) Scotrun, Pa. / Pocono Mountain East Ally Roth of East Stroudsburg netted four goals in a 2-0 week for the Warriors. The junior forward scored her fourth career hat trick just 6:23 into the game against Seton Hill for a 6-1 victory. The three goals were the fastest completed hat trick for ESU since at least 2003. Roth added one goal in the 4-0 win over IUP. Her 10 goals and 23 points on the season lead the PSAC. Standings | Statistical Leaders | Schedule/Results Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week Matt Palmer West Chester (Fr., GK) Bangor, Pa. / Bangor West Chester’s freshman goalkeeper Matt Palmer avenged the Golden Rams’ only 2013 loss to a league opponent with a 2-1 road victory over No. 12 Mercyhurst on Friday. Palmer faced 24 Mercyhurst shots and tallied 11 saves. The next day, he registered another five saves and faced 15 Gannon shots, as he recorded his second shutout of the season in the 1-0 win. Palmer currently leads the PSAC with an .889 save percentage and holds a .750 goals against average. Standings | Statistical Leaders | Schedule/Results Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week Chelsea Crockett California (Sr., M/F) Gilmanton, N.H./Gilford California’s Chelsea Crockett registered six points with two goals and two assists last week, as the Vulcans recorded a pair of shutout victories on the road in PSAC play. The senior midfielder tallied her fifth career multi-goal game with two scores in a 2-0 win at No. 16 IUP. Crockett then collected a pair of assists in a 2-0 victory at Clarion. With her first goal against IUP, she became the sixth player in school history to tally at least 25 career goals. Crockett currently ranks third in the conference in shots per game (3.5), points per game (1.5), and fourth in assists per game with 0.5. Standings | Statistical Leaders | Schedule/Results Football: Eastern Division Offensive Athlete of the Week Matt Soltes East Stroudsburg (Jr. /QB) Vernon, N.J. / Vernon East Stroudsburg's Matt Soltes threw 31 completions for 502 yards and six touchdowns in a 47-34 shootout win at Edinboro. It marked his second career 500-yard passing game and fourth 500-yard total offense game, as the junior rushed for 30 yards against the Fighting Scots. In the first half alone he threw for 275 yard and four touchdowns, and followed it with an 8-for-12, 142-yard performance in the fourth quarter. His longest touchdown pass of the day was a 39-yarder to Dusty Reed, who finished the day with four touchdown receptions. Football: Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week DJ Robinson Bloomsburg (Sr. / DB) Sinking Spring, Pa. / Conrad Weisner Bloomsburg's DJ Robinson helped the Huskies move to 3-0 on the season, as the Bloomsburg defense forced six Mercyhurst turnovers in a 38-22 win in Erie. Robinson had an interception for a touchdown, marking the second of his career, with 46 seconds left in the half to give Bloomsburg a 15-14 lead. His interception was one of three defensive/special teams touchdowns for the Huskies against the Lakers. Robinson finished the day with four tackles and an additional pass break up. Football: Western Division Offensive Athlete of the Week James Harris California (Jr. / QB) Woodstock, Ga. / Etowah California's James Harris nearly broke the single-game California school record for passing yards on Saturday, finishing with 439 yards while leading the Vulcans to a 56-34 victory at Shippensburg, highlighted by 35-unanswered points in the first half. He finished with two touchdowns and no interceptions on 24-of-33 attempts in the win. Harris posted 363 passing yards on 21-of-26 attempts in the first half, while becoming the fifth quarterback in school history to finish with 400 yards in a game. Football: Western Division Defensive Athlete of the Week Mike Zanders Gannon (So. / DB) Charlotte, N.C. / Hopewell Mike Zanders helped Gannon move to 3-0 for the first time since 1994 with a team-high 10 tackles (7 solo) in a 37-28 win over Kutztown. He has now reached double digits in tackles for the seventh time in 14 career games. Zanders also recorded a tackle for a loss of 26 yards and a pass breakup. Zanders is part of a defensive unit that leads the PSAC in scoring defense (11.7ppg) and total offense (227.3ypg). Standings | Statistical Leaders | Schedule/Results
