California Claims PSAC Title With Sweep of Seton Hill
GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Vulcans captured the PSAC Volleyball Championship with a 3-0 win (25-18, 25-20, 25-18) against Seton Hill in the finals of the league tournament on Sunday afternoon.

With the victory, the California volleyball team improves to 28-8 overall and earned the league's automatic qualifier for the 2014 NCAA Tournament. The Vulcans have now captured eight league championships in program history, including six titles in the last 10 years. Cal U will learn its seed later tonight when the NCAA releases the field for the NCAA Tournament via a webstream at 10 p.m. EST.
Senior outside hitter Laurel Miller led the team with 17 kills on a .350 hitting percentage. She also finished with five digs, two blocks and one service ace in the victory. Following the match, Miller was tabbed the PSAC Championships MVP after totaling 34 kills and 17 digs over the last two days.
Junior Mary Lavery finished with 11 kills while hitting at a .286 clip and freshman Ashley Leto added 10 kills in the victory. Sophomore Megan Litoborski guided the offense with 42 assists and recorded her 14th assist/dig double-double of the year after establishing a career high and leading all players with 20 digs.
In addition to Litoborski, senior libero Samantha Rudy totaled 19 digs and Leto collected 13 digs on Sunday. The quartet of junior Miranda Fouzie, sophomore Danielle Hayes, Leto and Miller registered a pair of block assists against the Griffins.

PSAC SEMIFINALS
California Takes Down West Chester
Greensburg, Pa. – West No. 4 California defeated East No. 3 West Chester 3-1 on Saturday afternoon in the semifinals in order to advance to the PSAC Volleyball Championship for the second consecutive year.
The Vulcans will face Seton Hill in the PSAC Championship match on Sunday at 12 p.m. The Vulcans will be making their eighth appearance in the league title game in the last 10 years. California and Seton Hill split the two regular season matches, with the Vulcans winning 3-2 on September 30 and the Griffins grabbing a 3-0 sweep on October 28. The home team won the match on both occasions.
After dropping the first set 20-25, West Chester bounced back to win the second 25-23. Set three saw California run away to a 25-15 win before utilizing a .419 hitting percentage in the fourth set and .202 overall to put away the Golden Rams.

Laurel Miller led all players with 17 kills and completed the double-double with 12 digs. Right side hitter

Seton Hill Sweeps Shippensburg to Advance Title Game
Greensburg, Pa. – Seton Hill swept Shippensburg in three sets on Saturday night to advance to the PSAC Volleyball Championship for the first time in program history.
The Griffins will face California in the PSAC Championship match on Sunday at 12 p.m. The Griffins are making their first PSAC title game appearance since joining the league in 2013. California and Seton Hill split the two regular season matches, with the Vulcans winning 3-2 on September 30 and the Griffins grabbing a 3-0 sweep on October 28. The home team won the match on both occasions.
The Griffins took the match via set scores of 25-20, 25-10, and 28-26. Sophomore outside hitter
Cassie Hausfeld led Seton Hill with 12 kills while swinging at a .407 clip coupled with 12 digs.

Lauren Teed led all players with 17 digs.

Annie Goerl was the top Raider with nine kills and as many digs. Two-time All-PSAC East middle hitters

Shippensburg caps its PSAC postseason run with a 19-17 overall record, while making its eighth consecutive appearance in the PSAC Tournament.

PSAC CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW
Greensburg, Pa. – Seton Hill is set to host the 2014 PSAC Women’s Volleyball Championship this Saturday and Sunday at the McKenna Center.
As the highest remaining seed in the West the No. 2 Griffins earned hosting rights for the semifinal and championship matches.
Seton Hill will face East No. 4 seed Shippensburg on Saturday, November 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Seton Hill bounced back from a 0-2 deficit to defeat No. 3 Gannon in five sets on Tuesday night. The Griffins had four players register terminations in the double-digits;
Corrine Gahagen (23),
Cassie Hausfield (14),
Shelby Kyllo (13), and
Abigail Malsch (12). Gahagen, Hausfield and Malsch completed the double-double with 10, 25, and 26 digs, respectively.
The Griffins are led by two of the top front row players in the league in All-PSAC First Team hitters Kyllo and Gahagen. The six footers rank first and third in the league in hitting percentage with clips of .333 and .319, respectively. They are also in the league’s top four blockers, with a combined 263 total blocks on the season, and each are averaging more than one per set.
In their only PSAC crossover meeting of the season the Griffins defeated the Raiders 3-1 on November 19 behind 11 kills from both Kyllo and Gahagen.
Shippensburg upset No. 1 Lock Haven in three sets on Tuesday night in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals for the third straight season. Leading the Raiders this year is All-PSAC First Team middle blocker
Taylor Gottshall, who notched 15 kills, eight digs, and two blocks in the quarterfinal victory. The junior has the fifth-most kills in the PSAC with 350, and leads the league in blocks with 1.23 per set. Two-time All-PSAC Second Team middle hitter
Faith Athey is also among the league’s best hitters, ranking eighth in the PSAC with 299 total kills.
The other PSAC Semifinal matchup will feature East No. 3 West Chester and West No. 4 California. The Golden Rams knocked off defending PSAC Champion and East No. 2 seed Pitt-Johnstown 3-1, while California swept West No. 1 Clarion 3-0 in Tuesday’s quarterfinal matches.
PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Year
Julia O’Brien notched a rare triple-double in the quarterfinal match, registering 13 kills, 11 digs, and 10 blocks. O’Brien led the league with 408 regular season kills and averages 3.37 per set. Backing-up O’Brien is sophomore defensive specialist
Callie Krajcir, who averages the fourth-most digs per set in the PSAC with 5.58.
Two-time All-PSAC outside hitter
Laurel Miller led the Vulcans with 14 kills in 10 digs in their postseason sweep of Clarion. Junior
Miranda Fouzie set a career-high with six solo stuffs and added one block assist to go along with her seven kill performance. Heading into the weekend, Miller has recorded a league-best 412 kills, while Fouzie ranks second in blocks per set with 1.21.
California swept the previous PSAC crossover meeting against West Chester on October 10. Sophomore middle hitter

Karleigh Lutz was the top Golden Ram with nine kills.
California has the most PSAC Championships out of the semifinal teams with seven, with its most recent coming in 2011. The Vulcans have played in the league title game seven of the last nine years. Seton Hill is in the semifinals for the second consecutive year, and is looking for its first PSAC Championship appearance and title since joining the league in 2013. Shippensburg, appearing in its eighth consecutive PSAC Tournament and ninth in 11 seasons, has made just one title game appearance in program history back in 2004. West Chester is seeking its first title game appearance in program history.

Shippensburg Upsets Lock Haven
Lock Haven, Pa. – No. 4 Shippensburg swept No. 1 Lock Haven 3-0 in the 2014 PSAC Volleyball Quarterfinals on Tuesday night. Shippensburg won the match by scores of 25-23, 25-22, and 26-24 to advance to the PSAC Semifinals for the third consecutive season.
Shippensburg will travel to West No. 2 seed Seton Hill for a PSAC Semifinal match on Saturday, November 15.

Shippensburg is in the hunt for its first PSAC title in program history and its first title game appearance since falling to Lock Haven 3-0 in 2004.

California Stuns Clarion
Clarion, Pa. – No. 4 California upset No. 1 Clarion 3-0 in the 2014 PSAC Volleyball Quarterfinals. The Vulcans swept the Golden Eagles via set scores of 25-19, 25-15, and 27-25.
California will now face the East’s No. 3 seed West Chester in the PSAC Semifinals on the campus of Seton Hill on Saturday, November 15.

West Chester Takes Down Defending PSAC Champion Pitt-Johnstown
Johnstown, Pa. – No. 3 West Chester battled the defending PSAC Champion and No. 2 seed Pitt-Johnstown and delivered a 3-1 victory on Tuesday night in the 2014 PSAC Volleyball Quarterfinals. The Golden Rams took the match by scores of 25-22, 18-25, 26-24, and 25-20.
West Chester advances to the PSAC Semifinals and will face West No. 4 seed California on Saturday, November 15.

Griffins Narrowly Defeat Gannon Knights to Claim Hosting Rights
Greensburg, Pa. – No. 2 Seton Hill battled back from an 0-2 deficit to defeat No. 3 Gannon in five sets in the 2014 PSAC Volleyball Quarterfinals on Tuesday night. The Griffins took the match with set scores of 21-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-19, and 15-12.
