LEE WEXLER

Bloomsburg - Mass Communications Major

Lafayette Hill / Plymouth Whitemarsh HS

Wexler is one of Bloomsburg's top returning players on the men's tennis team, having racked up over 25 wins in both singles and doubles over his first three seasons.  He just recently was named the PSAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week after winning all three singles and doubles matches, extending his winning streak to 11 straight matches.  He has been a reliable middle of the lineup player every season and has provided some key postseason victories during that period, as well.

Why did you choose Bloomsburg?

I wanted to be in a competitive environment with the best opportunity to be successful in my college tennis career.
What is the biggest adjustment you had to make going from high school to college?
 
Time management skills.
What are your career plans?

To be a columnist for the New York Times.
What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?

Worry about the things that you can control and nothing else.
What is the thing you’ve enjoyed most about college?

The friendships I have made.
What is your top collegiate athletics memory?
Winning against a person who beat me earlier in the season to send us to the NCAA Tournament.

... your most memorable athletic accomplishment throughout your life?

Hitting the winning shot after a 0-6 start in basketball to turn the season around and go to the playoffs.
Among athletes in the family, where do you rate?

Number one!
What person has had the most significant influence on you from an athletics perspective?

My father.
What is your favorite pro sports team?

The Philadelphia Eagles.
Who is your favorite athlete and why?

Roger Federer for his poise and respect of opponents and integrity within the sport of tennis.
If I could change one thing about the sport I play, it would be:

The heat.

If I could go pro in any sport it would be:

Hockey.

Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?

Not washing the winning shirt.
