Tabtip Louhabanjong Tabbed PSAC Champion Scholar Award Recipient for Women's Tennis Championship
Bloomsburg, Pa. - IUP sophomore Tabtip Louhabanjong has been named the recipient of the PSAC Champion Scholar Award for the women's tennis championship. She was presented with the award on Friday afternoon prior to the semifinals of the women's tennis championship.
The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 89 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions - I, II and III. Louhabanjong is the inaugural recipient of the award for the women's tennis championship as the Champion Scholar Awards are being initiated during the current academic year.
Louhabanjong currently has compiled a 4.0 grade point average and completed 47 credit hours while majoring in foreign languages, literatures and linguistics. A native of Krabi, Thailand, Louhabanjong attended high school in Anchorage, Alaska and is a graduate of West Anchorage High School. She is also the third foreign-born student-athlete to garner a Champion Scholar Award this year.
