West Chester's Meghan Kerrigan Named PSAC Champion Scholar Award Recipient for Women's Basketball Championship
Edinboro, Pa. - West Chester junior Meghan Kerrigan has been named the recipient of the PSAC Champion Scholar Award for the women's basketball championship. She was presented with the award prior to Friday night's second semifinal between West Chester and Edinboro.
The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 89 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions - I, II and III. Kerrigan is the inaugural recipient of the award for the women's basketball championship as the Champion Scholar Awards are being initiated during the current academic year.
Kerrigan has currently compiled 95 credit hours while majoring in pharmaceutical product development. A native of Downingtown, Pa. and a graduate of Downingtown East High School, Kerrigan currently had a 3.813 grade point average.
