AURIELLE MOSELEY

Millersville - Elementary Education Major

York / Central York HS

Mosley is a junior forward on the women's basketball team who has become a dominating force for the Marauders.  She led Division II as a sophomore with 12.6 rpg and is currently leading the league in the same category with 11.3 rpg.  A first-team All-PSAC East selection a year ago, Mosley ranks second in the league in blocks (2.5 pg) and fifth in scoring (15.3 ppg).  She posted 93 blocks in 2010-11 to break the school single-season mark and registered 18 double-doubles.

Why did you choose your Millersville University?

I chose Millersville because I wanted to be in the education program and I also wanted to stay close to home.

What is the biggest adjustment you had to make going from high school to college?

As far as academics I had to learn to stop procrastinating. I was not used to having so much time on my hands. As far as athletics, I came in recovering from a torn ACL. So I had to learn discipline and stay up on my rehab as well as making sure I knew all the plays even though I was not ready to play yet.
What are your career plans?

I am a social work major and a athletic minor so I plan to find a job helping kids in poverty by using athletics. Eventually I hope to open my own daycare.
What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?

Some people come into your life for a season and others for a lifetime. You will always have problems when you mix seasonal people with lifetime expectations.

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

Steve Nash. He is the best point guard in my eyes, plus he has a great personality outside of the sport and seems very humble and I respect that in a athlete.
What is the thing you’ve enjoyed most about college?

I enjoy the amount of friends I have made over the four years I have been here. I am a complete SOCIAL BUTTERFLY and like to have a lot of friends and college gave me the opportunity to meet all different types of people.

What is your favorite pro sports team?

The Chicago Bulls. I love how they play as a team and even though they do have a star player, that player knows that he can not do it by herself.
Among athletes in the family, where do you rate?

I have a lot to live up to as far as basketball in my family goes. Both my mom and dad played at George Mason, my sister finished playing in high school, and my brother is currently playing at Alleghany College (Md.) with the hope to transfer to George Mason. As of right now I think me and my brother are tied for third.
What person has had the most significant influence on you from an athletics perspective?

I would have to say my mother. Yes she did put me in basketball at a young age but as I got older she gave me the opportunity to play other sports and let me choose for myself which one I wanted to pursue further.

Did you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?

Not really. I just do everything in the same order each game. I wouldn't call myself superstitious but I like having a routine. It keeps me sane.

What is your top collegiate athletics memory?

I have a lot of individual memories for myself but the one that tops them off is actually fouling out of a game and watching one of my teammates hit a game winning three. I had never had the opportunity to experience that because its never happened in my career so I have to say that tops them all.

...your top athletic accomplishment throughout your life?

I would have to say being the top rebounder in Division II. Accomplishments like that are unexpected and it's nice to have a symbol showing how hard you worked and that you have worked hard enough to be number one.

What’s on your Ipod during pregame?

Old school R&B music. It calms me down and keeps the jitters away.

If I could go pro in any sport it would be:

I want to say basketball but I don't think I would last that long... lol. So I am going to say volleyball. I have always loved that sport almost as much as I loved basketball.
Stuck on a deserted island, what three things would you bring?

Unlimited supply of food and water, a high tech cellphone, and a friend.
Who is your celebrity crush?

Common

I would be a lot more effective if I would spend less time:

sleeping... I can sleep all day and all night. It is my favorite part of the day.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

I have never really been on a vacation somewhere nice and exspensive but when I can I am going to go on a cruise to the Bahamas.

My hidden talent is:

singing songs from all types of musicals and older Disney movies.
Sport I would look bad doing, and why:

Soccer because I am extremely clumsy and I don't think I can kick a ball while running at the same time without falling on my face.
My favorite movie I’m embarrassed to admit:

I don't have a favorite movie I am embarrassed of but my favorite embarrassing show is XENA WARRIOR PRINCESS.

Words your coach says that you swear you can hear in your sleep:

PUT A BODY ON HER!
Fill in the blanks:

When you’re in my hometown, you should try the soul food at Kennedys.
