WEST CHESTER'S NATIONAL TITLE RUN COMES TO AN END

West Chester, Pa. -
West Chester women's soccer team fell 4-1 to visiting The College of Saint Rose in the 2012 NCAA Division II Championship Quarterfinals. 

Erika Schrock scored the lone West Chester goal off her head in the 62nd minute assisted by Carly Yost, but it wasn't enough, as Saint Rose notched three of its four goals in four and half minutes within the first 45 minutes of play.   

The loss to Saint Rose marks the second time in three seasons that Saint Rose has ended West Chester's national title hopes. West Chester closes the season with a 15-5-1 overall record, and advanced further in the NCAA playoffs than any other PSAC women's soccer program in 2012.

WEST CHESTER PREVAILS TO WIN ATLANTIC REGION IN NCAAS

West Chester, Pa. - West Chester women's soccer defeated Slippery Rock 1-0 in the Atlantic Regional finals in order to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2012 NCAA Division II Championship tournament.

The match was scoreless throughout nearly 86 minutes, before the Golden Rams' Jen Hutchinson notched the game winning goal to send her team to the quarterfinals. 

West Chester will play the East Region winner between Dowling and Saint Rose, who play at 1:30 p.m. today at West Chester. West Chester's quarterfinal match is scheduled for Sunday, November 18.

SLIPPERY ROCK SHUTS DOWN CAL TO ADVANCE TO THIRD ROUND OF NCAAS

California, Pa. - 
Slippery Rock slid past Cal 1-0 on Sunday in the second round of the 2012 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship tournament, and will advance to the tourney's third round. 

The Rock, who made it to the Round of 16 for the second consecutive season, where Slippery Rock will face West Chester, who defeated West Virginia Wesleyan 1-0 earlier on Sunday. The game will take place at West Chester on Friday, November 16. A gametime has yet to be determined.

The winner of the SRU vs. WCU match will advance to the quarterfinals and play the East Region victor.

WEST CHESTER ADVANCES TO 3RD ROUND OF NCAAS

West Chester, Pa. -
West Chester needed just one goal to defeat West Virginia Wesleyan 1-0 on Sunday, Novemeber 11, in order to move forward in the 2012 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship tournament. 

The Golden Rams' Dana Hunt notched West Chester's lone mark in the 23rd minute, her second goal of the season. 

West Chester will play the winner between Slippery Rock and California on Friday, November 16, in the third round of the NCAA tournament.

SLIPPERY ROCK AND CAL TO SQUARE-OFF IN 2ND ROUND
 
California, Pa. - Slippery Rock defeated Edinboro in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship tournament in penalty kicks (1-1, 4-2PK) in order to advance to the second round of the championship.

Slippery Rock and first seed Cal are scheduled to dual at Phillipsburg Soccer Facility at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, as the two PSAC foes face-off in a PSAC title rematch.

Gannon was swept 2-0 by West Virginia Wesleyan earlier on Friday and was knocked out of the championship. No. 2 West Chester will host WV Wesleyan on Sunday, November 11, at 12:00 p.m. in NCAA second round action.  

The winners of the second round matches will play against one another in the third round on Friday, November 16.

Lock Haven, Pa. - PSAC's California, Edinboro, Gannon, West Chester and Slippery Rock have been selected to compete in the 2012 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship tournament as members of the Atlantic Region. 

In the first round of competition, Slippery Rock will travel to face Edinboro on Friday, November 9. The winner will play California on Sunday, November 11. Gannon faces West Virginia Wesleyan on Friday, and the winner of the match will play West Chester in the second round on Sunday. 

The finalists of the Atlantic region will square-off in the third and quarterfinal rounds on either November 16 and 18. 

The semifinals and championship matches are scheduled for Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Ga., hosted by the Peach Belt Conference.

The championship field is made of 48 teams, with 20 squads earning automatic berths for clinching a conference championship title. Slippery Rock represents the PSAC's conference champion and automatic qualifier.
