MERCYHURST WINS FIRST PSAC CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE
Erie, Pa. - Mercyhurst University men's soccer clinched the program's first PSAC Championship title with a 1-0 victory over Slippery Rock on Sunday in Erie, Pa.
With just under seven minutes left in regulation Ryan Lund netted a header goal off a corner kick to secure the win for the Lakers.
The NCAA will anounce the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship tournament field of teams on Monday, Nov. 5, at 7:00 p.m.
SLIPPERY ROCK TO FACE MERCYHURST IN MEN'S SOCCER TITLE MATCH
Erie, Pa. - Slippery Rock defeated West Chester 1-0 in the PSAC semifinals in order to advance to the 2012 Men's Soccer Championship game against Mercyhurst in Erie, Pa.
The Championship match is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 4, at 12:00 p.m. at Mercyhurst.
The Rock's Stephen Donnelly notched the game winner in the 84th minute, as Slippery Rock will be battling for its eighth PSAC title, its most recent crown coming in 2009.
MERCYHURST EARNS 3-2 WIN OVER MILLERSVILLE, ADVANCES TO SEMIFINALS
Erie, Pa. - Mercyhurst pulled-off a 3-2 victory against defending PSAC men's soccer champion, Millersville, in the semifinal round of the 2012 PSAC Men's Soccer Championship to advance to play for the crown on Sunday.
The Lakers' Alex Manea netted all three Mercyhurst goals against the Marauders including the game winner in the 90th minute, his 14th goal of the 2012 season.
Manea scored in the 24th minute followed by another mark at 31:12. Millersville answered in the 55th minute with a penalty kick netted by Matt Kadoch. Andrew Dukes scored again for Millersville in the 78th minute.
The Lakers will compete for their first PSAC title in program history on Sunday and will face the semifinal winner between No. 6 Slippery Rock and No. 2 West Chester.
CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW
Lock Haven, Pa. - Top seeded Mercyhurst is set to host the 2012 PSAC Men's Soccer Championships, including semifinals and the championship match, this weekend.
Mercyhurst received a bye into the semifinal round and will face No. 4 Millersville, who fought to a 0-0 (8-7 PK) victory over California on Thursday in the quarterfinal round. The Lakers were victorious over the Marauders in the foes' regular season meeting with Mercyhurst shutting out Millersville 3-0. The game is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., as Millersville is looking to defend its 2011 PSAC crown and Mercyhurst is seeking its first championship title in program history.
Directly following Saturday morning's semifinal game, Slippery Rock and West Chester are scheduled to begin their semifinal match at 1:30 p.m. No. 2 West Chester earned a bye into the semifinal round, and No. 6 Slippery Rock defeated No. 3 Gannon 2-1 in double overtime on Thursday to move on in the tournament. SRU pushed through to the semifinal round for the third time in the past four seasons and is looking to capture its eighth title in program history, the last coming in 2009. The Golden Rams hold a three game win streak heading into the matchup with The Rock. West Chester is just 1-7-1 in conference playoff action since 1991.
All proceeds from Saturday's matches will be donated to the American Red Cross Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Efforts.

SLIPPERY ROCK KNOCKS-OFF GANNON TO PLAY WEST CHESTER IN SEMIFINALS
Erie, Pa. - No. 6 Slippery Rock men's soccer scored with 39 seconds left in double overtime against No. 3 Gannon to earn a spot in the 2012 PSAC Men's Soccer Semifinals.
The Rock's Ryan Lutke netted the game winner off a deflected throw-in for his fourth mark of the season.
The match was tied throughout the first 45 minutes of competition, before a corner kick headed by Stephen Donnelly of Slippery Rock in the 78
th minute allowed The Rock to take a 1-0 lead.
Just five minutes later, Ivan Tolic of Gannon responded with his own header goal to equalize the match for the Golden Knights and notching his first goal of 2012.
Slippery Rock will now face No. 2 West Chester in the PSAC Semifinals on Saturday at Mercyhurst. Previously this season, The Rock defeated the Golden Rams 2-0 in West Chester, Pa.
MILLERSVILLE ADVANCES TO SEMIS
Millersville, Pa. - Millersville battled with California (Pa.) in the 2012 PSAC Men's Soccer Championship quarterfinals to a 1-1 double overtime tie that was broken by two rounds of penalty kicks, with Millerville edging the Vulcans 8-7.
The Marauders will take on No.1 Mercyhurst on Saturday, Nov. 3 in Erie, Pa in the semifinal round. The championship game is schedule for Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE ANNOUNCEMENT
Lock Haven, Pa. -- The 2012 PSAC Men's Soccer Championship field is set for this week's first round of competition to be played on Thursday, Nov. 1.
Sixth seed Slippery Rock will travel to No. 3 Gannon in a quarterfinal match, and No. 5 California (Pa.) will head to No. 4 Millersville on Thursday, November 1.
The winner of the No. 6 vs. No. 3 quarterfinal will play second seed West Chester on November 3, at Mercyhurst. Top ranked Mercyhurst is slated to play the No. 5 vs. No. 4 first round victor also on November 3. The championship match is scheduled for Sunday, November 4, between the semifinal winners.

ADJUSTMENTS MADE TO PSAC SOCCER TOURNAMENT SCHEDULES
Lock Haven, Pa. -Due to the impending storms approaching the Commonwealth, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference has made adjustments to the league's upcoming Men's and Women's Soccer Tournament Commissioner Steve Murray announced today.
Originally scheduled to be played Tuesday, Friday and Saturday during the upcoming week, league officials decided to push the opening-round games to Thursday. The semifinals will be played on Saturday with the Championship Game slated for Sunday.
In the opening round, if there is only one contest scheduled for a site, matches will take place at 1.p.m. Adjustments will be made in the event of a women's and men's doubleheader or if the institutions can agree on an alternate time due to travel concerns.
Saturday's semifinals will begin at 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The Championship Game on Sunday will start at noon.
Note: League officials will reconvene on Wednesday morning to asses any additional changes that may need to be made.
