Lock Haven, Pa. - Gannon's Chaz Lear has been selected as the PSAC Athlete of the Week after beating a ranked opponent at Ashland University.

With the outcome of the dual match dependent on the outcome of the final bout, Chaz Lear topped third-ranked Jacob Southwick of Ashland University, 4-3. Going into this heavyweight bout Gannon only led the dual match by one point (19-18). Lear's upset win ensured Gannon's 22-18 victory over Ashland, which was ranked 10th in the country, and also gave head coach Don Henry his 150th career dual win in his 28 years with the Golden Knights. Prior to this meeting Southwick had yet to lose to a Division II opponent this season.
