Lock Haven, Pa. - Mansfield's Mallory Moore achieved the rare triple-double in the PSAC, and the first in her school's history, en route to garnering PSAC East Athlete of the Week honors while California's Amy Johns averaged a double-double in her team's 2-0 week to attain PSAC West Athlete of the Week honors.
Bloomsburg's Marla Simmons is the East Freshman of the Week for the second time this season after helping her team to a win in its only contest of the week while Gannon's Nettie Blake recorded a double-double in the Golden Knights' only game last week, helping her team remain unbeaten on the year and becoming the second different Knight to earn the West's Freshman of the Week award.

Mallory Moore, Mansfield

Moore became the first player in Mansfield women's basketball history to record a triple-double in leading the Mountaineers to an 85-48 win over Central Penn on Monday night. Moore reached a career-high with 28 points and also added 10 rebounds and 10 steals - all in just 19 minutes of play. She also added a pair of assists while making 11-of-18 shots (61 percent), 2-of-3 three-point attempts and all four of her free throws. With her 10-steal performance, Moore moved from a tie for sixth place in school history to fourth in career steals with 210. She is also now just 30 points away from moving into fourth place in program history in scoring.

Simmons earns her second East Freshman of the Week award of the season after scoring nine points and grabbing five rebounds in Bloomsburg's 80-64 win over Chestnut Hill on Monday afternoon, helping the Huskies head into the holiday break with a 9-2 record. Simmons made 3-of-8 shots from the field, including 1-of-3 three's, and both free throw attempts and also contributed a steal in 15 minutes of action.
PSAC West Athlete of the Week
Amy Johns, California
Senior, Forward
McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport
Johns averaged a double-double with 18.5 points and 11.0 rebounds to help California to a pair of victories that each were by at least 20 points. She made 17-of-42 shots from the field, including 3-of-8 three's, and also contributed 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game. In Sunday's 83-62 win over Bowie State in the opening game of the Komen Shoot for the Cure Classic hosted by IUP, Johns finished with 17 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals. She then posted her second double-double of the season in Monday afternoon's 69-47 win over Seton Hill, as she recorded 20 points and pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds.
PSAC West Freshman of the Week
Nettie Blake, Gannon
Freshman, Forward
Jersey City, N.J./Marist
Blake recorded her third career double-double to become the second different Golden Knight to be named the West Freshman of the Week this season. She recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds in Gannon's 81-56 win over Urbana on Saturday while also adding two assists, two blocks and a steal. Blake made 4-of-8 shots from both the floor and the free throw line.

Bloomsburg
The Huskies have won four straight games on the season ... Kelsey Gallagher made five steals against Chestnut Hill, a season high, which gave her 187 career steals. She is now tied for 10th place on BU’s all-time list ... Dana Wieller scored 12 points against Chestnut Hill. She has now scored double figures in 10 of BU’s 11 games this season ... Gallagher has scored 10 points or more in 33 of her last 38 games. In her career she has scored double digits in 77 of 92 games.
California
The Vulcans extended their win streak to four games under interim head coach Jess Strom … During the win streak, Cal U is averaging 81.0 points per game and has won each game by over 20 points … The Vulcans posted a pair of wins at the Komen Shoot for the Cure Classic hosted by IUP … Junior G Stephanie Michael tied her career high with 19 points on Sunday against Bowie State … Michael made four three-pointers in three-straight games … She was one of four players to score in double figures versus the Bulldogs … Senior F Amy Johns tallied her second double-double of the year, and eighth of her career, on Monday against Seton Hill
Cheyney
In their only game of the week, the Lady Wolves fell 73-45 to Virginia State … It was Cheyney's final non-league game of the season … Cheyney doesn't return to the hardwood until January 6 & 7 when they travel Slippery Rock and Mercyhurst in the final cross over games of the year.
Clarion
Clarion took last week off and gets back to action on December 29 when it hosts Seton Hill … Clarion picked up its first home win of the season on Saturday, December 10 over Cheyney. Defense led to the win, as Clarion held the Lady Wolves without a field goal for over 13 minutes while going on a 36-7 run. Freshman Nicole Miloser played a key role in the run scoring all of her season-high 10 points during the streak. Miloser scored the first 15 points of her career over the weekend ... Courtney Healy had a season-high 17 points on December 9 in a loss to Shippensburg. Healy also blocked a shot in the game giving her 105 in her career ... Mackenzie Clark also had a season high in points Friday with 13 coming off the bench ... Freshman Hannah Heeter got her first start Friday and had a season high 13 rebounds.
East Stroudsburg
ESU fell to 3-6 with a 59-33 loss vs. USP on Monday at Koehler Fieldhouse ... Warriors got 12 points and 8 rebounds from Sr. G Cyara Woodridge ... ESU has lost by 32 (vs. California) and 26 since a 46-45 loss vs. undefeated IUP on Dec. 9 ... Woodridge leads ESU with 11.6 points per game ... So. G Andrea Veres is also in double figures with 10.4 ppg ... They are followed by Fr. F Jessica Martin (7.3 ppg, 4.6 rpg) and Jr. F Fayola Moise (6.9 ppg, 6.0 rpg) ... Fr. G Ryann Fiascki played 36 minutes at point guard vs. USP in her second career start ... ESU plays at Philadelphia U on Dec. 30 before heading to Lock Haven and Edinboro on Jan. 6-7.
Edinboro
The Fighting Scots were off this week and will not hit the court again until Dec. 29-30 when the team travels to Highland Heights, Ky. to play in the Northern Kentucky Classic … Edinboro (8-0, 6-0 PSAC West) rose one spot to #8 in the latest USA TODAY/ESPN WBCA Top 25, the second-highest ranking in school history … Edinboro leads the PSAC in scoring offense at 80.9 per game as juniors Kiara Brown (15.1 ppg) and Samantha Blazetic (14.3) along with senior Renee’ Brown (11.5) and sophomore Darche’ Jackson (11.4) all average in double figures … Edinboro leads the nation in steals per game with 18.5; Kiara Brown has 24 and senior Micki Cerchiaro has 23 … Team also ranks third in NCAA Division II in assists average with 20.3 behind senior Raven Metz who is averaging four assists per contest and has 32 on the year.
Gannon
The Lady Knights earned an 81-56 win over Urbana on Saturday thanks to double-doubles from Kelley Sundberg and Nettie Blake. The pair are the first Lady Knights to record double-doubles in the same game since Brittany Tabron and Kristina Freeman both achieved the feat during an 81-75 double-overtime win over Henderson State … Sundberg finished with 10 points and tied her career high with 11 assists. Blake poured in 12 points while also grabbing 10 rebounds … A total of six different Lady Knights contributed at least nine points, marking the third time this season at least five Gannon players reached double digits … Under head coach Cleve Wright, the Gannon women’s basketball team is 33-2 when five or more Lady Knights reach double-digits in scoring … The Gannon women's basketball team will have a 13-day break before traveling to San Juan, Puerto Rico to participate in the San Juan Shootout. Gannon will play UPR-Rio Piedras on Friday, December 30 and UPR-Bayamon on Monday, January 2.
IUP
The Crimson Hawks continued their impressive start to the season with a pair of wins in the Seventh Annual Susan G. Komen “Shoot for the Cure” Classic this past Sunday and Monday … IUP’s 10-0 start is it’s best opening to a season since a 16-0 start to begin 1999-2000 … Playing tough overall defense, the Crimson Hawks defeated visiting Seton Hill and Bowie State by a combined 139-70, allowing a 21.5 shooting percentage while forcing 37 turnovers … IUP had two players record double-doubles over the weekend, as Jr. F Sarah Pastorek got her second of the season with 15 points and 10 boards in a 57-31 win over Seton Hill while Fr. F Ashley Stoner posted the first of her career with 18 points and 10 rebounds in the 82-39 victory over Bowie State.
Kutztown
After taking last week off, Kutztown hopes to get back in the win column when it faces Lincoln (Pa.) for some non-conference action on Friday, Dec. 30 at Keystone Arena … In three of its six PSAC games, Sisson has been the leading scorer for KU … The Golden Bears tied their season-high in steals (11) against IUP. But KU also scored a season-low 47 points against the Crimson Hawks.
Lock Haven
Lock Haven lost its lone game last week to Goldey-Beacom in non-conference action … The loss marks the third straight for the Lady Eagles and brings The Haven’s record to 4-4 overall, 3-3 in the PSAC … The Lady Eagles are led by senior Peaches Nesmith who is averaging 17.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season … Seniors Heather McHugh and Sharay Hall are both also averaging double figures in points at 11.1 and 10.9 respectively. Hall is second on the team in rebounds with 6.3 per game.
Mansfield
The Mountaineers won their second straight game in dominating fashion with an 85-48 win over Central Penn Monday night at Decker Gym ... Senior guard Mallory Moore recorded the first triple-double in Mansfield women’s basketball history scoring 28 points and recording 10 rebounds and 10 steals in just 19 minutes of play … Currently, Moore sits at fifth in Mansfield career scoring with 1,212 points and fourth in steals with 210 take-aways … Junior forward Julia Stevenson, who has scored in double-figures in all eight games this year, picked-up her second double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds against the Knights … The Mountaineers reigned in 70 rebounds as a team with junior Sydnee Reeves leading the way with a team-high 12 … Mansfield is back in action Dec. 30 when they travel to Lemoyne College for a non-conference game.
Mercyhurst
Mercyhurst beat West Virginia Wesleyan, 77-62, December 14 .. .Dana Banda led with 15 points on 6-9 shooting, while Lindsay Stamp added 14 and Megan Hoffman posted 11 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals ... Nikki Frederickson had eight points and nine boards and Lindsey Burke recorded career highs in blocks with four and rebounds with 11 ... The win makes the Lakers 4-1 in their last five contests ... Hurst hosts Notre Dame College on December 30 to wrap up its non-conference schedule ... Stamp leads all PSAC freshmen in scoring with 13.3 points per game.
Millersville
The Millersville women’s basketball team continued its long road swing at Wilmington (Del.), playing its third of eight-straight road games heading into the New Year … The Marauders responded with a full-team effort after falling to the ninth-ranked Fighting Scots of Edinboro a week ago … Millersville dominated Wilmington from start to finish, taking its largest lead of 28 just four minutes into the second half. Six marauders came off the bench for extensive minutes and contributed to 25 points … At Edinboro the Marauders were outscored 31-9 from the bench. Millersville had 11 players see the court, and all 11 players scored at least one point … The Marauders are now 6-2 overall with 2-1 record on the road after starting the season 4-1 at home … Millersville will play five more road games before returning home on Jan. 14. Head coach Mary Fleig now has 399 wins at Millersville.
Shippensburg
SU was off last week and will return to action on December 30 when it travels to West Virginia Wesleyan … The Lady Raiders went 1-1 on its first road swing of the season in PSAC play two weekends ago... Defeating Clarion by 14 and losing to Gannon by five ... SU has lost games to undefeated Gannon, IUP and Edinboro thus far, but none by more than five points ... The Raiders continue to thrive at the free-throw line, shooting 78.3 percent ... Senior Monae Baker continues to average a double-double for the season with 15.1 points and 10.4 rebounds.
Slippery Rock
Slippery Rock snapped a six game losing streak Monday with a 66-52 win over Charleston to head into the break with some momentum ... Danielle Smith continues to lead the team with per game averages of 15.4 points and 9.3 rebounds ... Jasmine Cooper adds 13.6 poinbts and 8.7 rebounds per game and Erinne Cunningham is finding her shot, averaging 10.1 points per game and leading the team with 25 made 3-pointers.
West Chester
The Golden Rams were off last week and will next play on December 30 when it hosts Molloy … When it last took the floor, West Chester split its two PSAC crossover games on the road, falling to No. 9 Edinboro (80-76) and defeating Lock Haven, 77-67 ... Sr. G Allison Hostetter averaged 20.5 ppg and 5.5 rpg last week ... She now has 956 career points as she nears the 1,000 point milestone ... Jr. F Alex Lennon scored a career-high 21 points in the win over Lock Haven.
