PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week Kevin Morton of Kutztown helped his team to not only its first win over Bloomsburg in 19 years but with it, just the program's second-ever PSAC East title and berth in the PSAC championship game. West Chester's Ronell Williams helped lead one of the Golden Rams' strongest defensive performances of the year in a win over Millersville and he is the PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week.

PSAC West Co-Offensive Players of the Week Lawrence Coleman of Gannon and James Johnson of IUP combined for seven touchdowns in their teams' respective wins. Gannon's victory denied Slippery Rock, which clinched a berth in the PSAC championship game last week, an outright divisional title while IUP's win over Lock Haven was the 500th in program history. California's Thomas Mulabah is the PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week after his performance helped the Vulcans wrap up at least a share of the West title for the seventh straight season.

Slippery Rock will visit Kutztown next week in the PSAC championship game. It will mark Slippery Rock's seventh all-time appearance in the 'State Game' and first since 1974 while Kutztown will make just its second-ever appearance in the title game and first since 1980. Gannon, which had previously been scheduled to play at Kutztown in the final week of the season, will now visit Long Island to take on C.W. Post, which had been Slippery Rock's previously scheduled opponent in Week 11.

PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week
Kevin Morton, Kutztown
QB, Jr.,     Abington, Pa./Abington

Morton rolled up 362 yards of total offense and accounted for five touchdowns to help lead Kutztown to a 52-14 win over Bloomsburg to clinch a share of the PSAC East title and a berth in next week’s PSAC championship game. It also marked Kutztown’s first win over the Huskies since 1992. Morton completed 21-of-34 passes for 302 yards and four touchdowns without an interception and also ran 11 times for 60 yards (5.5 ypc) and a score. Morton has now gone 140 straight passes without throwing an interception, spanning over five games.
 

PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week
Ronell Williams, West Chester
LB, Fr.,     Chester, Pa./Chester

Williams led West Chester’s defensive effort in its 49-13 win over Millersville by recording 16 tackles (7 solo), including 3.5 tackles for loss (totaling 18 yards) and 1.5 sacks (for 11 lost yards). He also broke up a pass and was credited with a quarterback hurry. His performance helped the Golden Rams allow their second-fewest points in a game this season and with it, he took over the team lead in tackles despite this game being just his second start of the season.


PSAC West Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Lawrence Coleman, Gannon
WR, Sr.,    Warren, Ohio/Warren G. Harding

Coleman caught six passes for 92 yards and three touchdowns to help lead Gannon to a 33-27 upset win over PSAC championship game-bound Slippery Rock and deny The Rock an outright PSAC West title. Coleman accounted for Gannon’s only points in the first half as the Golden Knights trailed 20-7 at the break and he then caught two more TDs in the second half to lead the comeback effort. He caught his second TD in Gannon’s first second-half possession to cut the lead to 20-14 and he then pulled in his third midway through the fourth quarter to give Gannon a 33-20 lead. With his three TD receptions, Coleman broke the Gannon single-season record for receiving TDs with nine.


PSAC West Co-Offensive Player of the Week
James Johnson, IUP
RB, So.,    Philadelphia, Pa./Glen Mills

Johnson needed just six carries to run for 97 yards (16.2 ypc) and four touchdowns, all in the first half, to help lead IUP to the 500th win in program history with a 56-6 win over Lock Haven. Johnson scored on runs of 14, 37, 6 and 18 yards, the first three of which came in succession and turned a 7-0 Crimson Hawks lead into a 28-0 advantage. All of his statistics came in the first half as he did not have any carries in the second half.
 

PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week
Thomas Mulabah, California
DL, Sr.,     Sterling, Va./Parkview

Mulabah tied a career-high with nine tackles (7 solo), which included 3.0 tackles for loss (for 20 yards) and 2.0 sacks (for 18 yards lost) to help lead California to a 34-28 win over Edinboro. The win clinched a share of the PSAC West title for the Vulcans, marking the seventh straight season that Vulcans have at least shared the divisional crown.Mulabah’s efforts helped hold Edinboro, which came in averaging over 150 rushing yards per game, to just 37 yards on the ground. In the process, Mulabah broke the school record for career tackles for loss and he now has 33.0 career TFLs. 





Team Notes

Bloomsburg Huskies
Bloomsburg had an 18-game winning streak against Kutztown snapped with a 52-14 loss to the Golden Bears...With 151 yards rushing Franklyn Quiteh went over 1,000 yards for the season. For his career Quiteh now has 3,087 yards rushing, the eighth player in school history to go over 3,000 career rushing yards...Bloomsburg now has two backs, Eddie Mateo is the other, with more than 1,000 yards rushing for the season. It's the first time in school history that has happened...The Huskies will end their regular season with Lock Haven...It will be the first meeting between the teams since 2005.

California Vulcans
The Vulcans secured a share of their record seventh straight PSAC West title on Saturday with a 34-28 victory over Edinboro and an upset loss by Slippery Rock at Gannon…After a scoreless first quarter, Cal U scored 24 points in the second quarter and led 34-14 before Edinboro scored 14 points in the final 2:42 of the game…Sr. DT Thomas Mulabah now holds the all-time school record with 33.0 TFL, eclipsing the previous mark held by Willie Walker (2006-09)…Jr. TE Blake Williamson posted career highs with seven receptions for 106 yards, his first 100-yard game of his career…Jr. RB Lamont Smith rushed for 129 yards and is now only 38 yards shy of his second-straight, 1,000-yard season…Cal U committed a season-low three penalties for 25 yards in the win.

Cheyney Wolves
The Wolves scored a season high 27 points…QB Chris Anderson was part of all four Cheyney touchdowns, throwing for two and rushing for two…Anderson also completed a season high 18 passes…It was the fourth time this season that Anderson threw for more than 128 yards…Dominic Crowell had a 13 yard punt return their longest of the season…The Wolves surrendered 252 yards rushing…It was the fourth time this season that a team was able to run the ball for more than 200 yards…It was also the most yards the Wolves have given up on the ground since week one in a victory over Lincoln…Cheyney will honor the 12 seniors on the team in a pre-game ceremony on Saturday before the Wolves and Vulcans kick off at 1:00 pm. 
 
Clarion Golden Eagles
Clarion suffered a heart-breaking 42-38 loss on Senior Day at Memorial Stadium to Mercyhurst...Clarion led 24-14 at halftime, but lost QB Ben Fiscus with bruised ribs…The Eagles scored twice in the third including Patrick Graham-Murphy’s third TD of the day and a 99-yard interception return from Chris Wilson to give Clarion a 38-14 lead...Mercyhurst scored 28 unanswered points, then held off a final play to the end zone from Clarion’s “O” to finish the rally...Graham-Murphy, who started at defensive corner for seven games, rushed for 107 yards and 3 TDs in only is third start...He rushed for 155 yards and 1 TD last week against Gannon and 174 yards and 1 TD  three weeks ago...All-Region DE Barrington Morrison had another strong game with 5 tackles including 2 sacks and 1 more TFL…He has had 7 TFLs and 3 sacks in the last two games. He has 21 TFLs this season for -91 yards, and 10 sacks. He now has 60 career TFLs and 28 sacks... Eagle QB Ben Fiscus now has 737 rushing yards this year and 1,319 career rushing yards - he needs 20 yards to tie Adam Almashy's Clarion record of 1,339 yards (1999-2002)...Clarion travels to Millersville on Noevember 12th at 1pm for the season finale.

C.W. Post Pioneers
C.W. Post closed out its regular season conference slate with a 42-27 win over Cheyney to improve its PSAC East record to 6-1 and claim a share of the PSAC East title...The shared championship is the first PSAC divisional title for the Pioneers, who joined the PSAC as an associate member in football beginning in the 2008 season...Fr. Steven Laurino accounted for five touchdowns - four passing and one rushing - and finished the day with 230 personal offensive yards...The Pioneers recorded 252 net yards of rushing, averaging 6.0 yards per carry...So. Jeff Mack exceeded the century mark in rushing yards with 164 and one touchdown...The Pioneers will close out the season hosting Gannon next Saturday.

East Stroudsburg Warriors
ESU fell to 2-8 with a 44-14 loss at Shippensburg on Saturday...The 30-point margin is the largest for an ESU opponent since falling 55-20 at Grand Valley State in the NCAA semifinals in 2005...Warriors led going into the fourth quarter in three of their first seven losses but were down 38-0 entering the fourth at Ship...Sr. QB Ray Wagner threw for 172 yards after entering as the backup in the first quarter...Wagner went over 3,000 passing yards (3,011) and total offense (3,144) while playing just six quarters in the last three games...So. Nate Daniels made his first career start with Wagner held out to start the game due to injury but left on ESU’s fourth possession...Jr. Jordan Hallman (84.6), So. Dusty Reed (83.1) and So. Robert Bleiler (71.8) all average more than 70 yards per game receiving...ESU hosts Edinboro on Saturday in its season finale at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Edinboro Fighting Scots
Edinboro rallied late but was unable to come up with the upset win at 22nd-ranked Cal...Trailing 34-14 Cory Hayes’ blocked a 21-yard field goal attempt, with James Jackson picking it up and returning it 70 yards for a touchdown...It marked the second time the sophomore returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown this year, and his third TD this year…Alex Romanias was 4-for-4 on extra points, giving him 147 for his career. That breaks the career record of 144 held by Kody Robertson…David Bostic caught four passes and has now tied the school record for career receptions with 149. His 43 catches this year are tied for 14th, and the 720 yards are good for 12th…Nick Marino caught a career-best 10 passes against Cal…Cody Harris continued his strong play, completing 23 of 31 passes for 288 yards with 3 TDs. The sophomore has thrown for 889 yards the last three games with 9 TDs.

Gannon Golden Knights
Gannon rallied from a 20-7 halftime deficit to knock off 14th-ranked Slippery Rock 33-27…It was Gannon’s third consecutive victory against Slippery Rock and was the Knights first victory over a ranked opponent since a 10-7 overtime victory at 19th-ranked Bloomsburg on November 7, 2009…Gannon posted its largest second-half comeback since overcoming a 19-0 halftime deficit en route to a 22-19 victory at Shippensburg on September 11, 2010…Sr. Lawrence Coleman caught three touchdowns in a game for the second time this season, giving him nine on the season and breaking Gannon’s single-season record for receiving touchdowns…So. Jansen Jones produced his first career 100-yard rushing game with 128 yards…Fr. Daniel Tapscott tossed a career-high four touchdowns…Sr. Randy Colling posted 10 tackles, reaching double digits for the fourth time this season and third time in the last four games.

IUP Crimson Hawks
IUP became the 17th NCAA Division II football program to win 500 games with a 56-6 victory at Lock Haven on Saturday…IUP is the third school this season to reach 500 all-time wins, following Central Missouri and Northwest Missouri State…The win also comes in the program's 775th all-time game and in its 82nd season, the youngest program in the all-time Division II top 25 victories list…The Crimson Hawks now sit 17th all-time in victories, right behind Northwest Missouri State, with a mark of 500-252-23 (.660)…IUP dominated in all aspects, holding a 423-272 advantage in total yards on 27 less plays, without punting a single time and picking off five Lock Haven passes…James Johnson rushed for 97 yards and four touchdowns on just six carries, while Pat Brewer caught five passes for 204 yards, including a 69-yard score on the game’s first play…IUP (6-3, 5-2) wraps up its regular season next Saturday with a trip to West Chester.

Kutztown Golden Bears
The Golden Bears took down Bloomsburg, 52-14, to earn a share of the PSAC East title and the division’s top seed...It was KU’s first win over Bloomsburg since 1992 and second division title in the 96-year history of the program...It has never won a PSAC title...Kevin Morton threw for 302 yards with four TDs on 21-for-34 passing. He also rushed for 60 yards and a score. Morton has now thrown 140 pass attempts, spanning over five games, without an interception...Josh Smith hauled in three TD scores and a career-high 144 receiving yards...Robbie Frey led KU with 85 yards rushing on 19 carries and a score...Josh Mastromatto had 66 receiving yards and took a kickoff return 83 yards for a touchdown. It is his second of the season...Jason Henshaw had a game-high nine tackles on the front line along with a QB hurry...Harris and Brett Moss each chipped in seven tackles, followed by John Kreuer and Bill McMonigle with six apiece...Fr. CB English Peay shut down BU’s top receivers all day and tallied three pass breakups and three tackles.

Lock Haven Bald Eagles
For the fourth time this season TB Bradon Brader surpassed the 100-yard mark in a game, but it still wasn’t enough as the Bald Eagles fell to IUP in The Haven’s final home game of the 2011 season...With the loss LHU fell to 0-9 on the year and 0-7 in PSAC West action...The loss marked the 41st consecutive loss with Lock Haven failing to win a game since the 2007 season finale...Brader now has 820 yards on the year and his 91.1 yards per game are the sixth-best in the PSAC...The Bald Eagles close out the season next week at Bloomsburg.

Mercyhurst Lakers
Mercyhurst trailed 38-14 at Clarion with just seconds left in the third quarter, but in a complete reversal from what has happened to them all season long, the Lakers scored 28 unanswered points in the final 15:12 to snap their five-game losing streak...Richie Sanders finished his afternoon with a personal-best 125 yards on 24 carries and also a career-high three TDs. He became the first Laker to eclipse 100 yards rushing in a game this season...Mercyhurst finished the day with 548 yards of total offense, with 412 in the second half alone...So. Anthony Vendemia threw for a career-high 352 yards in the victory...Sr. WR Trevor Kennedy had 10 catches for 166 yards on Saturday, keeping him in second place all-time in both career receptions and receiving yards...He has 182 career catches (19 short of Ed Bailey's record of 201) and 2,649 career receiving yards (334 short of Bailey's 2,983). He was held without a touchdown for just the second time this season, and still is tied with Bailey with 28 career receiving TDs...Kennedy had 184 all-purpose yards on Saturday, giving him 3,947 for his career. He is 53 yards away from becoming the third player in school history to eclipse 4,000 career all-purpose yards and is just 80 yards away from moving past Bailey for second place on the all-time list. He is 70 yards shy of 2,000 all-purpose yards this season.

Millersville Marauders
After averaging 140 yards of offense through the first seven weeks, Millersville has recorded more than 300 yards in each of the last two weeks. The Marauders totaled 302 against West Chester, rushing for 157 yards—the second highest total of the season...Marquis White rushed for 92 yards, giving him an average of 90.7 yards per game in the last three outings. He’s averaging just over 5.0 yards per carry in those three games...Dominic Sanders has at least one catch in every game this season and at least five in three of the last four games...Dan Miller’s 136 yards passing was his second highest total of the season...The defense forced and recovered a fumble, giving it 23 generated turnovers this season...The 14 forced fumbles and 14 fumbles recovered are the most since 2003.

Shippensburg Red Raiders
Shippensburg secured its second winning season since 2004 after a 44-14 victory over East Stroudsburg…SU has scored at least 40 points in all six of its victories…Its 621 yards of total offense Saturday are the third most in SU single-game history and its 401 rushing yards are fourth-most in school history…SU has 792 rushing yards in its last two games…So. QB Zach Zulli gained sole possession of the single-season TD passes record (31) and rushed for 126 yards, the most by an SU quarterback since 1965…Jr. Mike Frenette had 100+ rushing yards and 200+ all-purpose yards for the third time this season...SU’s defense recorded a shutout streak of 123 minutes, 58 seconds that was stopped with 8:23 remaining in Saturday’s game...Sr. Bryan Culler had two of SU’s five interceptions Saturday and now has four career interceptions, all against ESU...So. K Drew Newcomer remains the only PSAC kicker to not miss a field goal (9-of-9) and is 14-of-14 in his career.

Slippery Rock - The Rock
Rock will appear in PSAC title game for the first time since 1974...SRU 4-2 all-time in PSAC title games and has won in each of its last three appearances...SRU won its first PSAC West title since 2000...Sr. QB Cody Endres, with 2,318, set new SRU single-season record for passing yards...Endres also holds season attempts and completions records...20 TD passes this fall ties Endres for third on SRU season chart...Endres is only second Rock QB to pass for 200 or more yards six times in a single season...Sr. WR Devin Goda caught nine passes for 131 yards and one TD at Gannon, fifth time this season he's had 100 or more receiving yards and fourth time he's had eight or more receptions...Goda, with 69 catches for 961 yards, moved into sole possession of third place on both single-season charts...Goda needs 39 yards to become just the fourth Rock receiver in history and the first since 2002 to have 1,000 or more receiving yards in one season...Goda needs 40 yards to move into third place on the single-season pass receiving yards list...Sr. FS Brandon Watters, with a pick Saturday at Gannon, With the INT, Watters took over sole possession of third place on SRU's single-season steals list and moved into a tie for fourth place on the career chart.

West Chester Golden Rams
West Chester defeated Millersville, 49-13, in a renewal of the oldest rivalry on the books in school history...WCU scored four TDs in the second quarter...The 28 points were the most in a single quarter this season...WCU's 42 points were the most in a single half this season as well...Fr. ILB Ronell Williams recorded 16 tackles - a single-game high for WCU this season - to take over the team lead in tackles with 67 on the year...He made just his second start of the season on Saturday...Rondell White scored three TDs in the win...He rushed for two scores and caught a TD pass...WCU amassed 542 yards of total offense in the win.
