Shippensburg, Pa. - IUP sophomore back Angel Bohn has been named the recipient of the PSAC Champion Scholar Award for the field hockey championship.

The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 88 award and honors the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 88 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 88 NCAA championships across all three divisions - I, II and III. Bohn is the inaugural recipients of the award for field hockey. Over the last two weekends, the inaugural Champion Scholar Awards has been given out for the men's and women's golf and cross country championships.

Bohn is a sophomore majoring in anthropology. She currently has a perfect 4.0 grade point average while having accumulated 32 credit hours. She is a native of Newport, Pa. and a graduate of Newport High School.

With her 4.0, Bohn makes it five out of five recipients so far this year that have perfect 4.0 GPAs.
