PSAC Lacrosse Athletes of the Week - 7

Lock Haven, Pa. - A pair of second-time honorees this year are this week’s PSAC Lacrosse Athletes of the Week as Bloomsburg’s Allie Kakareka and Lock Haven’s Allison Berger are the East and West Players of the Week, respectively. 


PSAC East Player of the Week
Allie Kakareka, Bloomsburg
Sophomore, Attacker

Kakareka earns her second East Athlete of the Week award of the season after scoring a total of 10 goals and dishing out three assists for 13 points in a 1-1 week for Bloomsburg. She scored her 10 goals on just 12 shots, which were all on goal, and she also added two ground balls and two caused turnovers on the week. In a 20-6 win over Millersville, she scored a career-high six goals and also had three assists for a career best nine points. In a 13-10 loss to West Chester, Kakareka scored four goals on just five shots. 


PSAC West Player of the Week
Allison Berger, Lock Haven

Oreland, Pa./Springfield

Berger is the West Player of the Week for the second straight week after helping the Lady Eagles remain undefeated on the season with a 3-0 week. She recorded 10 goals and 10 assists in wins over Edinboro and IUP and in an overtime win over No. 2 C.W. Post. She also added five ground balls and a draw control on the week. In a 19-4 win over IUP last Monday, she netted four goals and two assists. She then dished out a season-high seven assists and also scored a goal in a 23-2 win over Edinboro. She wrapped up the week by scoring a game-high five goals and dishing out an assist in an 11-10 overtime win. Her goal with 1:01 remaining in regulation forced overtime and she then went on to net the game-winner as the horn sounded at the end of the first overtime period.
