Edinboro's Torsten Gillespie helped his squad to an EWL title and has been named the PSAC Athlete of the Week in the sport of Wrestling.

Just one year after losing all three of his matches at the EWL Championships, Gillespie rebounded to win all three this year, claiming the 149-pound weight class in the process.

Gillespie opened with a 16-0 tech fall in 3:28 over Dan Castillo of Cleveland St. and then downed Bloomsburg's Josh Roosa in the semifinals.  In the title bout, he squared off against James Fleming of Clarion, ranked 15th by InterMat.  No wrestler scored until the final minute when Gillespie was able to draw back points off Fleming, who chose down to start the period.

With the three wins and the title, Gillespie raises his record to 28-13 and qualifies for the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships March 18-20.  Gillespie was one of of four individual champions for the Fighting Scots which won an eighth straight EWL tournament crown.
