14 PSAC Wrestlers to Take Part at Division II Nationals

Fourteen PSAC wrestlers from five different schools have qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships to be held March 12-13 at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.   

The list is highlighted by defending 165-pound national champion Josh Shields of Mercyhurst, who carries a 34-3 record into this weekend's tournament.  Shields is currently ranked No. 1 in his weight class by Amateur Wrestling News.

Gannon will be represented by a PSAC-best six wrestlers who qualified for the tournament.  Corey Bowers (4th), Frank McGrath (7th) and Kevin McElhaney (8th) are all listed among AWN's rankings.  Tim Darling (Kutztown, 4th) and Chris Barrick (Shippensburg, 8th) also earned recognition by the ratings service.
