Borkowski Claims Third National Title, Clarion Divers Claim Three Titles to Highlight PSAC Performances at NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships

West Chester's Jackie Borkowski won her third individual national championship of the meet, as she completed the freestyle sprint trifecta on Saturday by winning the 100 free to go along with her titles in both the 50 and 200 free won earlier this week. She was awarded the female Swimmer of the Meet honor. Clarion men's diver Logan Pearsall captured his second individual title of the meet as he won the men's 3-meter springboard title on Saturday. His and Borkowski's titles on Saturday gave the PSAC six individual national championships for the four-day meet.

As a team, West Chester led the way for the women by finishing fourth. Clarion finished sixth. Six other PSAC women's teams also scored points. For the men, West Chester also led the way with a ninth place finish while Clarion placed 13th. Edinboro also scored points for the men.

Clarion diver Kayla Kelosky, who finished in second place on Wednesday night in the women's 3-meter springboard diving, claimed first place and the national championship in the women's 1-meter springboard diving on Friday, giving the PSAC its fourth individual national title of the Swimming & Diving Championships. Teammate Jena Gardone, who also finished fourth in the 3-meter on Wednesday, finished fourth again in the 1-meter to give the Golden Eagles two All-Americans in that event.

West Chester is in third place and Clarion is in fifth on the women's side after three of four nights at the championships. West Chester is in seventh place on the men's side.

Jackie Borkowski of West Chester claimed her second individual national championship in as many nights on Thursday as she swam to the title in the 200 freestyle just one night after winning the 50 free to lead the Golden Rams to a third-place standing halfway through the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships.

Also winning an individual national title on Thursday night was Clarion men's diver Logan Pearsall, who captured the title in the men's 1-meter springboard diving event. West Chester is also the top-ranked men's team from the PSAC halfway through the meet as the Golden Rams are in seventh place.

Wednesday, March 10

West Chester's Jackie Borkowski, the outstanding women's swimmer of the PSAC Championships in each of the last two seasons, captured an individual national championship on Wednesday night to highlight the PSAC's performances on the first night of the championships. Borkowski, who is the PSAC record-holder in both the 50 and 100 free, won the national title in the 50 freestyle by touching the wall in :22.87.

Borkowski was not the only PSAC swimmer to gain All-American status by finishing in the top eight of a respective event. In the same event, California's Melissa Gates finished fourth. Below is a list of the PSAC's All-Americans from Wednesday night.
