It was the closest margin of victory in the three-year history of the PSAC women's golf championship, but in the end, the result was the same as the first two, as California won its third straight title, topping second place Gannon by just eight strokes to win the 2010 women's golf title just six months after winning their last title, which was postponed to the spring last year after bad weather forced the cancellation of the tournament in the fall.
Weather was not a problem this time around as the skies were sunny and temperatures were in the 60s and lower 70s all weekend, however the wind played a big part in inflating some scores as there was not a single round under or at par in the tournament. The best round of the tournament was a four-over 76 by California's Kim Thomas in the second round.
Cal's Jenna Rothermel repeated as the individual champion, carding a two-day total of 14-over 158 to capture the individual medal by one stroke over second place Bhanisha Nagindas of Gannon. Both golfers shot a second round of five-over 77 but Nagindas had an 82 on Saturday while Rothermel had an 81. The Golden Knights had the second, third and fourth place individual finishers as Kelly Nickerson placed third, two shots behind Nagindas and Amanda Teodorsson, one of three first round leaders, tied for fourth with Thomas of Cal, both at 18-over par 162, one shot behind Nickerson. West Chester's Ann Bahnick tied for sixth with a duo of Vulcans - Maria Lopez and Lorena Aranda - with a 19-over 163. Cal's Inez Del Rosario was ninth at 21-over while Mercyhurst's Caitlin Kempton and Gannon's Kiersten Klekner-Alt tied for 10th.
The Vulcans and Golden Knights were well ahead of the field, as third place West Chester finished 46 shots behind Gannon. Kutztown placed fourth and Mercyhurst, Clarion and East Stroudsburg rounded out the team standings. Millersville had three golfers compete as individuals, as four are required to be counted in the team standings.
