Men's Soccer PSAC Athletes of the Week - 5

Lock Haven, Pa: Greg Blum and Dan Prian are this week’s PSAC Athletes of the Week for their impressive performances during this past week’s competition.  Blum’s solid play at goal helped extend Slippery Rock’s winning streak to eight consecutive games while Prian took control over Lock Haven in Millersville’s 3-0 victory.

 

Western Division

Slippery Rock’s Greg Blum dominated between the posts during The Rock’s 2-0 week and helped improve his team’s winning streak to eight consecutive games. Against No. 18 ranked Mercyhurst, Blum held the Lakers to one lone goal and had five saves to earn the 2-1 victory. On Saturday, the Rock went on the road to East Stroudsburg where Blum was perfect for his fifth shutout of the season, making six saves in the 1-0 win. The junior goalkeeper has allowed only six goals in ten games (a goals against average of 0.64) to lead Slippery Rock to the top of its division and to the best record in the PSAC.

 

 

Eastern Division

Dan Prian-Millersville

Sophomore/ Forward

York, Pa/West York

 

Forward Dan Prian had an outstanding offensive performance on Saturday to lead the Marauders to a 3-0 victory over Lock Haven. The sophomore scored two goals in a span of 1:33 in the first half to give Millersville an early lead. At 17:20, Prian’s first goal was scored by a goal mouth scramble, which later stood up as the game-winner. Prian then fired a shot into the right corner of the goal at the 18:53 to give Millersville the 2-0 lead. Millersville teammate Matt Wilson assisted on both of Prians’ goals. On the season, the sophomore is third on his team in scoring with two goals and three assists.
