Men's Soccer PSAC Athlete of the Week - 4

Lock Haven, Pa - Benjamin Lloyd and Kyle Loughlin are this week’s PSAC Athletes of the Week. Loughlin’s natural hat trick against Shippensburg led his team to a 4-0 victory and Lloyd posted six points for the week, netting two goals and two assists.

 

Western Division

Benjamin Lloyd- Slippery Rock

Freshman/Forward

Slippery Rock’s Benjamin Lloyd has been honored with this week’s PSAC Athlete of the Week for the Western Division. The freshman led Slippery Rock to a perfect 2-0 week, and the Rock is now 3-0 in the PSAC-West and 7-1 overall. In the Rock’s, 1-0 victory over Charleston (No. 4 in the Region), Lloyd assisted on the lone goal of the game. Against Gannon on Saturday, he had a career high of five points (2 goals, 1 assist), putting the Slippery Rock ahead in early minutes. Later Lloyd assisted on the second goal and followed it up with the tying goal in the 88th minute to take the game into overtime where Rock came away with the 4-3 victory.

 

 

Eastern Division

Kyle Loughlin-Millersville

Junior/ Forward/Midfielder

Washington, Pa/Warren Hills Regional

 

Junior Kyle Loughlin of Millersville is this week’s PSAC Athlete of the Week for the Eastern Division. Loughlin dominated in Marauders’ 4-0 victory over Shippensburg on Saturday, when he netted a natural hat trick in the first half of competition. Within the first 16 minutes of the game, Loughlin scored three goals and helped put the game out of reach. His first goal was from 18 yards out during the fifth minute of play, his second was headed in off a cross at 14:50 and his third goal came nearly two minutes later on a penalty kick. This is the second time this season that Loughlin has received PSAC Athlete of the Week honors for his outstanding performance on the field.
