Slippery Rock Women, Shippensburg Men Lead PSAC Track & Field Championships Halfway Through

At the halfway point of the 2009 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field championships, the Slippery Rock women and the Shippensburg men hold the leads. Slippery Rock's lead is a slim one, with The Rock in first place with 53 points, eight more than second place Lock Haven's 45. The Shippensburg men have built up a large lead as their 71.5 points leads second place Lock Haven's 40 by 31.5 points.

Friday's highlights included IUP's Maddy Outman winning the heptathlon with an NCAA automatic qualifying score. Shippensburg's Don Graybill took first in the decathlon to help contribute to Ship's large lead in the team standings. California (Pa.) distance standout Chris Clark won the men's 10,000 meters while Edinboro's Tina Yi won the women's event.

East Stroudsburg standout Paul Wagner won the hammer throw while Mansfield standout Mike Gray took first in the shot put. Shippensburg freshman distance standout Neely Spence continued her amazing freshman season with a first place finish in the 5,000 meters.
