Men’s Track:

Christopher Clark - California
Graduate Student
Hadley (Commodore Perry)

Clark set a new school and PSAC record in the 10,000-meter run on Thursday at the 51st-annual Mt. San Antonio College Relays. He finished the race with a spectacular time of 29:03.10 to break the 25-year old conference record previously held by Brian Ferrari of California. His time is good enough to be an automatic qualifying time for the NCAA Championships and improved his NCAA Division-II leading time. Clark narrowly missed the “A” standard for the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Women’s Track:

Lacey Cochran – Slippery Rock

Cochran had a dominating four-event performance at the Sparky Adams Invitational this past weekend. The junior won three events and also picked up a second place finish. Cochran finished second in the 400-meter dash with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 56.56 seconds, which is the second fastest time in the PSAC this season and the 11th best mark in the nation. She took first place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.40 seconds, an event she already holds the top mark in the conference this season. Cochran finished off her day by running in a pair relays that took first place for Slippery Rock. The junior ran a leg in the 4x100-meter relay that posted the best time in the PSAC this season with a time of 48.05 seconds.  She also ran a leg on the winning 4x400-meter relay that posted the best time in the conference this season with a time of 3:51.10. The 4x400-meter relay was just .10 seconds from reaching an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.

Men’s Field:

Paul Wagner – East Stroudsburg

Paul Wagner has turned in another set of great performances to earn the field athlete of the week honor for the second week in a row. Wagner took a pair of firsts in the hammer throw and shot put and set a new PSAC record in the hammer throw at the All-American Meet at East Stroudsburg this past weekend. His hammer throw of 190-7 ½ was less than three feet from the NCAA Automatic standard and bettered his school record he set last week. He won the shot put with a 49-1 toss and received second in the discuss throw with a toss of 146-9. Wagner holds first place on the PSAC performance list in the shot put and hammer throw and third in the discuss this season.

Women’s Field:

Whitney Hendershot – Slippery Rock

Salamanca, N.Y. (Salamanca)

Hendershot had a great outing this past weekend competing in the heptathlon at the Ed Fry Invitational. The sophomore hit an NCAA automatic qualifier in the high jump and recorded the best mark in the nation this season. Her clearance of 1.78-meters (5-10) broke the Slippery Rock record of 5-09 set in 1999. Hendershot went on to win the heptathlon with a score of 4,435 points which is also an NCAA provisional qualifying mark for the heptathlon.
