West Chester’s JEFF RIGHTNOUR played a key role in his team’s landmark victory as has been selected as the PSAC Athlete of the Week for Men’s Tennis.

Rightnour went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and teamed with two different partners to register the same mark as West Chester went 1-1 on the week. Most notably, he scored two of the team’s points in a 7-2 win over Gwynned-Mercy, ending a 23-match losing streak for the Golden Rams that dated back to 2006. He picked up a win at No. 1 singles when his opponent retired with Rightnour leading, 3-0, and teamed with Matt Thomas to gain a 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles.

Earlier in the week, West Chester suffered a 5-4 loss to University of the Sciences, yet Rightnour posted a straight set win at No.1 singles and was again a winner with Michael Ensor, as the two triumphed in a 9-7 decision at No. 2 doubles.
