Mechanicsburg, Pa. – West Chester picked up three wins in the six events contested on Sunday, extending a lead into a third straight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference title. The Golden Rams totaled 660.5 points, finishing well ahead of Clarion at 560. California, with 495 points, placed third, its best-ever finish at the championship.

West Chester's Jackie Borkowski, who was named the women's Swimmer of the Meet, became the first PSAC female swimmer to go under 50 seconds in the 100 freestyle, swimming a :49.82 to break the all-time PSAC record. She won both the 50 and 100 free for the second straight year. Another championship record fell to West Chester's 400 freestyle relay team of Megan Bauer, Kristen Montello, Danielle Ierley and Borkowski, which timed in at 3:25.99, nearly one and a half seconds better than the old mark.

Clarion's Denise Simens captured her second individual event title of the meet by winning the 200 breaststroke in 2:16.23, a new PSAC meet record. Lock Haven's Amanda Terray won the 200 backstroke in an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 2:04.47, successfully defending her event title from last year. California (Pa.)'s Marianne Juhl also won her second event of the meet, taking first in the 1650 free in 17:14.18, also a new PSAC meet record time.

On Saturday, Clarion’s 200 medley relay squad - Courtney Bogue, Denise Simens, Kaitlyn Johnson and Gina Mattucci - set PSAC meet and overall records by touching the wall in 1:44.81. Johnson also took first place in the 100 butterfly with an NCAA qualifying time of :56.04.

In the 100 breaststroke, the Golden Eagles took the top two spots, with Simens winning and Kelly Connolly taking second, both in NCAA automatic qualifying times.

West Chester took first in the other relay event of the day, with the Golden Rams blowing away the field in the 800 free relay, winning by over 15 seconds in 7:31.25, a new PSAC meet record. Borkowski, took first place in the 100 backstroke in a new PSAC record time of :55.56, participating ust before she anchored the 800 free relay team to victory.

Cal's Ester Bosch also won her second individual event title of the meet as she took first place in the 200 free in a new PSAC meet record of 1:50.59. She also won the 500 free on Friday.
Highlights from Friday’s action included three automatic qualifying times in the 200 freestyle relay, with Clarion’s team (1:34.11) of Johnson, Tessa Hillsten, Mattucci and Connolly beating out the Golden Rams by just .16 and the Vulcans by.55. More success for the Golden Eagle relay squads came in the 400 medley - Bogue, Simens, Johnson and Mattucci – as they edged West Chester by .24, winning in 3:47.97. Cal finished third and all three teams again put up NCAA qualifying times. Both Clarion teams set new PSAC Championship and all-time marks with their swims.

Also on Friday, Borkowski broke her own meet and overall records in the 50 freestyle, touching the wall in 22.92. Bosch won the 500 free by over two seconds, finishing in an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 4:57.90.
