A total of six PSAC volleyball teams will begin play in the NCAA Tournament today at the Atlantic Regional, which will run from today through Saturday. The eight regional winners will then advance to the Elite Eight, which will be held on December 3. The national semifinals will then be contested on December 4 with the national championship match on September 5.
Three-time defending PSAC champion California will be looking for its third straight regional title as well and the Vulcans will have their home court to play on once again, as the Vulcans are the top seed and will host the regional tournament. The Vulcans will take on CIAA champion Chowan in the first round at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 19. No. 4 seed Gannon will take on No. 5 seed and WVIAC champion Wheeling Jesuit in the first round at 5:00 p.m. The winners of those two matches will meet in the second round on Friday.
In the other half of the bracket, No. 3 Clarion will meet up with No. 6 Edinboro in a rematch of last week's PSAC Tournament quarterfinal match, which was won by Clarion 3-1. The Golden Eagles and Fighting Scots will kick off the action on Thursday from Hamer Hall at noon. The winner of that match will take on the winner of the second match of the day, scheduled for 2:30 p.m., between the No. 2 seed Lock Haven and the No. 7 seed Mercyhurst. The winners of those two matches will meet in the second round also on Friday.
