Lock Haven, Pa: Justin Taucher and Jeremy Deighton are Co-PSAC Athletes of the Week for the West after leading both their teams to a perfect week, extending their teams’ winning streaks to four and nine respectively. Kyle Loughlin picks up PSAC Athlete of the Week in the East for the third time this season after another top performance scoring three goals on the week.
Western Division
Justin Taucher- California

Veteran Justin Taucher’s efforts helped extend the Vulcans winning streak to four games after posting two goals and one assist in last week’s games. In the 1-0 victory at Pitt-Johnstown, Taucher scored the game-winning goal in the final minutes of the second half. On Saturday the Vulcans traveled to West Chester where Taucher collected a goal and an assist in the 3-2 victory. The senior now has a career-high seven goals on the season and is tied for the lead on his team.

Jeremy Deighton- Slippery Rock

Broadview Heights, Ohio/St. Ignatius
Jeremy Deighton turned up the offense for the Rock against PSAC-West rival Lock Haven where he had a hat trick, scoring all three goals in the 3-0 win. All three of Deighton’s goals were scored off of headers, the first being in the 49th minute when Toby Bowser’s shot hit the crossbar and Deighton headed it into the top corner of the net. His second goal came off a long free kick that he headed over top of the keeper in the 85th minute. Finally, his third goal that completed the hat trick was one minute later when he headed the ball home off of Bowser’s free kick in the 86th minute. Deighton now has nine goals for the season, five of them being game-winners.

Kyle Loughlin-Millersville

Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional
Junior Kyle Loughlin had another impressive week as he scored three goals in the Marauders’ past two games. His top performance was in Saturday’s game on the road against Gannon. After being down 2-0, Loughlin got his team on board scoring in the 52nd minute of competition. The Marauders later tied the game and picked up the 3-2 victory when Loughlin scored the game-winner in the last 15 minutes of play. Against PSAC-East rival East Stroudsburg, Loughlin scored a goal in the 4-0 victory to put the game out of reach. The junior forward leads his team in goals (7), assists (4) and points (18) and is among the conference leaders in all three categories.
