Shippensburg, Pa. - Maggey Bloskey's goal in the 14th minute of overtime broke a 1-1 tie and lifted Bloomsburg to a 2-1 win over Shippensburg for the Huskies' second straight PSAC championship and a league-best 16th all-time.
The win was the second of the year for the Huskies over the Lady Raiders, as Bloomsburg has been responsible for Shippensburg's only two losses this year. Both teams will now await their fates in the NCAA Tournament, as selections will be announced early next week. The quarterfinal round of the championships will be held next Saturday on campus sites.
Shippensburg scored first in the game, taking a 1-0 lead at the 21:11 mark on a goal by Taylor Jones as Ashley Taylor assisted on it. It remained 1-0 until just over seven minutes into the second half, when Bloomsburg's Breanne Tobin put one home off an assist from Bloskey.
It then remained scoreless until the overtime period, although both teams pelted the opposing goalkeepers with shots that were continually turned away. For the game, Bloomsburg outshot Shippensburg 20-14, including a 12-7 advantage in the second half. Ship goalkeeper Amanda Houser made 14 saves, and the game-winning goal for Bloom came off a rebound after Houser had kicked away the initial shot. Caitlin Koczynski made six saves for the Huskies.

Semifinals
Bloomsburg 7, Mercyhurst 0
Bloomsburg dominated from the beginning, scoring two goals in the first 15 minutes and then extending the lead throughout the game en route to a 7-0 win over Mercyhurst in the first semifinal of the day on Friday. Maggey Bloskey scored a pair of goals while Amanda Riley had two goals and two assists to lead the Huskies, who outshot Mercyhurst 22-6.
Shippensburg 2, Kutztown 0
Two first half goals, including one just 4:00 into the game, were all Shippensburg needed to defeat Kutztown by a 2-0 score in the second semifinal. Jamie Doughty scored a goal just four minutes into the contest off an assist from Kristina Taylor and the Lady Raiders extended the lead to 2-0 just over three minutes before halftime on an unassisted tally by Kim Tully. Ship put just five of its 13 shots on goal but that was more than enough to advance to the PSAC championship match for the second straight year.
