Lock Haven, Pa. - Kutztown goalkeeper Alyssa Hackelberg and California forward Amanda Heister are this week’s PSAC Women’s Soccer Athletes of the Week. Both earned the respecitve honors for the first time this year. Hackelberg is the PSAC East Athlete of the Week after extending her shutout streak to seven straight games with two shutouts last week, while Heister is the PSAC West Athlete of the Week after scoring three out of Cal’s four goals in a 2-0 week, including two game-winners.

Hackelberg recorded two shutouts in goal to help lead Kutztown to a 2-0 week with wins over Shepherd (3-0) and Shippensburg (4-0). With the two shutouts last week, Hackelberg broke the Kutztown school record for most shutouts in a season with 10. In the win over Shepherd, she made three saves and she also made a single save against Shippensburg. Hackelberg and the Golden Bears have currently recorded seven straight shutouts and the team is unbeaten in its last eight games, sporting a 7-0-1 record in that span. She and the Golden Bears have not allowed a goal since September 19, a span of 690 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal.
PSAC West Player of the Week

Heister helped the Vulcans to a 2-0 week with a pair of wins over two regionally-ranked opponents by scoring a total of three goals (out of four total goals scored by the team), including two game winners, in the two games. She opened the week by scoring the lone goal of the game in the 71st minute as Cal defeated Davis & Elkins on Wednesday. She then scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to lead the Vulcans to a key 3-2 PSAC West win over Mercyhurst on Saturday. She scored an unassisted goal in the second half before netting the game-winner in the 98th minute. Heister, who leads the Vulcans with a career-high 12 goals this year, is the second straight Cal player to capture the PSAC West Player of the Week, following teammate Paula Jackson last week.
