- PSAC Football Preview - Week 3
- (September 12, 2007)
In the second full week of Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference crossover play, all but Slippery Rock will
play a league opponent from the opposite division. The
Rock travels to Bowie St. for a non-conference match up.
Through five crossover games this season, the Western
Division holds a slight 4-3 advantage. Last week's
crossover games were highlighted by 19th-ranked
California hosting 12th-ranked Bloomsburg.
California beat Bloomsburg, 31-13, as the Western
Division won three of five crossover games.
In 2006, league teams experienced the first 10-game
mandated schedule, which featured teams from the Eastern
and Western Divisions squaring off against the opposite
division for the first three weeks of the season.
This week's games are highlighted by Shippensburg at
Kutztown (3 p.m.) and Edinboro at Bloomsburg (12 p.m.).
The Shippensburg-Kutztown contest is the second of 11
PSAC contests to be broadcast state-wide on SPORTSfever
Television Network in the "APSCUF College Football Game
of the Week." The broadcast will be available through a network
of Pennsylvania commercial television stations with a
potential audience of 4.8 million cable, satellite and
over-the-air households. (SPORTSfever
Release)
Edinboro at Bloomsburg features two squads that have won
or shared divisional crowns three times in the last four
seasons.
On
the national scene, three PSAC teams are ranked in the
top 25 of both the AFCA and D2Football.com polls.
