BLOOMSBURG--The Bloomsburg University men's tennis
team won the 2008 Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference (PSAC) title with a 5-1 win over Kutztown
on Saturday.
The win gives the Huskies their first PSAC men's
tennis title since 2003 and is the 21st men's tennis
championship in school history.
The Huskies led 2-1 coming from doubles and picked
up wins at number one singles by Dan Gal (South
Park, PA/South Park); number three singles by Ryan
Chow (Toronto, Canada) and at number six singles by
Dan Phillips (Colchester, England). Phillips was
named the tournament's MVP after earning four wins
(two singles and two doubles) over the weekend.
Bloomsburg goes to 14-5 on the year.
In the consolation match, East Stroudsburg beat
Millersville by a 5-3 score.
