- PSAC Football Preview - Week 6
- (October 3, 2007)
Week two of divisional play features a battle of the
undefeated in the SPORTSfever Television Network
"APSCUF Game of the Week" featuring the Pennsylvania
State Athletic Conference.
California takes its perfect 5-0 mark on the road to
battle Western Division rival IUP at 2 p.m.
The Vulcans bring the nation's top-rated defense
(132.0 ypg) against the Crimson Hawks (4-0)
explosive offense, which is ranked second nationally
in scoring (49.3 ppg).
The California-IUP
contest is the fifth of
10 PSAC contests to be broadcast state-wide on SPORTSfever
Television Network and will be available through a
network of Pennsylvania commercial television
stations with a potential audience of 4.8 million
cable, satellite and over-the-air households.
Beginning with this week's broadcast, all remaining
SPORTSfever Television Network games will air at 2
p.m., with kickoff slated for 2:05 p.m. The
Bloomsburg contests scheduled for Oct. 20 and Nov.
10 will be aired live in the Wilkes-Barre market but
will be shown on tape delay in all other markets. Additionally, the
Slippery Rock-Lock Haven contest on Nov. 1 will no
longer be televised.
The changes were made at the request of the network
after two of the first three broadcasts ran over the
three-hour time limit, forcing the independent
affiliates who carry the contests to cut off
broadcasts late in the game.
As part of the change, SPORTSfever Television
Network will add a live post-game show to its
remaining broadcasts.
In
other Western Division action, Shippensburg travels
to Clarion (2 p.m.) while Edinboro hosts Lock Haven
(2 p.m.).
Eastern Division match ups include a
pair of night games as Millersville hosts West
Chester (6 p.m.) and Kutztown hosts Bloomsburg (6
p.m.).
The crossover game features Slippery Rock at Eastern
Division host East Stroudsburg (1 p.m.).
Cheyney completes the day's schedule with a non-conference
road trip to Howard at 1 p.m.
On
the national scene, three PSAC teams are ranked in the
top 25 of both the AFCA and D2Football.com polls.
