(October 29, 2007)

The NCAA has selected IUP, Bloomsburg and Kutztown to participate in the six-team Division II National Championship tournament.

IUP earned the top seed in the South Region, with Bloomsburg and Kutztown earning the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds, respectively.  The Crimson Hawks received a quarterfinal round bye and will play the winner of the Kutztown-Bloomsburg contest on Friday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m in Lowell, Mass.

In the North Region, UMass-Lowell earned the top seed and the right to host the Final Four.  The River Hawks also have a quarterfinal round bye and will face the winner of No. 3 Bentley and No. 2 C.W. Post

IUP enters the national tournament after winning its first-ever PSAC title with a 4-3 overtime victory against Bloomsburg.  Meanwhile, reigning national champion Bloomsburg will look to make it four straight wins over Kutztown this season and have not lost to the Golden Bears since 1983, a span of 36 games.
