KUTZTOWN, PA - California University of
Pennsylvania won its third Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women's
Volleyball Championship with a 3-2 win over Lock Haven Saturday at Kutztown
University.
The Vulcans came back from an 0-2 deficit to win
the final three games and take its first PSAC title since 1992.
California's Katie Barker was named PSAC
Championship MVP. She had 10 kills and 15 digs in the title bout. The Vulcans
were also led by Amanda Evans, who had 16 kills, while Jessica Brown added 13
kills and Shannon Yourchik had 10 blocks.
Lock Haven was led by Li YiZhi, who had 17
kills and 17 digs. Allison Wade had 12 kills and 16 digs, while Michelle Deehan
had 12 kills and 10 digs.
California avenged its only two losses on the year, beating Lock Haven for the
first time in three tries.
