2004
PSAC Men's Soccer Championship
(hosted by Lock Haven University)
LOCK HAVEN, Pa.
–
The Lock Haven
University men’s
soccer team
(13-4-3)
defeated West
Chester
University
(15-7-1) 2-0
today at
McCollum Field,
winning the
Pennsylvania
State Athletic
Conference
(PSAC)
Tournament.
LHU has been on
a roll as of
late, having not
lost in their
last 12 matches.
Senior Joe
Leap (Long
Valley,
N.J./West Morris
Central) got the
scoring started
for the Haven,
after a
beautiful pass
from freshman
Ashley Rosindale
(Bradford,
England/Beckfoot
School) led him
past the
defensive line.
Rosindale capped
the scoring on
an adventurous
goal just 12
minutes into the
second half. The
team’s lead
striker with 12
goals, Rosindale
had been
frustrated in
the early going,
getting several
good looks, only
to bungle the
chance by
missing wide or
have WCU
goalkeeper
Andrew Shafer
make the save.
Rosindale
broke into the
scoring column
from outside the
18-yard box,
hitting the
underside of the
crossbar,
deflecting
downward to the
goal line and
bouncing in. For
his goal and
assist,
Rosindale was
named the
Championship
MVP.
Freshman Chad
Feerrar
(Lock Haven,
Pa./Central
Mountain) made
three saves for
his fifth
shutout of the
season. Shafer
made five saves
in the loss.
For Lock Haven,
it was the
school's 20th
overall PSAC
title, but first
since 1996.
Lock Haven

West Chester 0-0 0
